KBS MAX Graphite Iron???

I just received an email with photo showing the KBS Max Graphite irons (45-, 65-, 85-gms) and they have a link at the bottom of the page: "Learn more at KBSGolfshafts.com", but there's nothing about the KBS MAX graphite iron shafts? Are these just renamed KBS TGI graphite shafts? Why would they send an email promotion and have nothing on the web site to back it up? Anyone have any info on these shafts? I'm curious, I just went to Demo Day and spend 30-40 min hitting balls with the GAPR Mid and love the dang thing....wanted to run away with it. They had a saw-cut GAPR head showing the soft, pliable rubber filling injected into the hollow head, making me think of the injection commercials of the P790's. The GAPR shaft was a KBS Hybrid graphite shaft, and I remember saying to the guy wow, I'm thinking if those injected iron heads with similar graphite shafts would feel like this, I want them.

I just hit a Max 85 on Friday with a PXG Gen 3 t head. I’ve played Steelfiber i95 stiff for the past 3 years. Before that I was playing Recoil prototypes in 95g stiff.

The Max 85 felt incredible indoors. There was a pronounced kick for me in the middle of the shaft. I won’t have hard numbers until I go back tomorrow to dial everything in but this is definitely on my list. I do recall it launching a little higher and a little more spin than the Steelfiber but not by huge amounts. OMG the feel though.....

the graphics however really put me off. It’s not a label unfortunately - they are printed right on the shaft. I’m thinking about finding some matte black labels I can wrap over the KBS billboards. Or send them to Continental for a painting. Really don’t want to go through the hassle though. I plan on having my shafts pured also and it would just cause a major distraction. For that reason I may not buy them.

I will also hit the TGI graphite as I haven’t ever hit those. If neither work out I’ll just stick with Steelfiber.

I went with the SteelFiber in my PXG Gen 3 T.

1) The SF had the most consistent numbers. I tested about a dozen different shafts (Oban steel, TGI, Nippon and DG 105, Max, etc). Having played the SF for 3 years already I was really hoping for a change as I like change. I’d occasionally get a great set of numbers on a given shot then not so great on the next swing or two Where with SF I was mostly consistent from shot to shot. Probably not a fair test given the familiarity.

2) I still really liked the feel of the Max. My fitter said they do make a 95g version of Max but my light internet research didn’t find any. I never followed up on it since I went with SF. I also feel very comfortable with 95g and wouldn’t want to drop any lower (I was testing the 85g version).

3) Given the SF gave me more consistency, costs less and didn’t have the garish graphics of the Max, I stayed with the SF.
