Callaway Optifit 2 adapter depth and removal questions

I am contemplating buying a shaft that currently has a Callaway Optifit 2 adapter on it for use in a different brand head. My questions are:

* What is the insertion depth on this adapter, wondering how much tip prep I will be looking at once the adapter is removed?

* Anything tricks or gotchas I should be aware of prior to removing the adapter?

* I read elsewhere on the internet that Callaway does not tip trim driver shafts, can anybody confirm this?

Insertion depth is 1.25” on Callaway adapters. They’ve always come off the same as any other adapter for me. Any adapter removal is going to depend on how the epoxy was applied. If it’s direct from Callaway, it will come off very easily. If it was added after the fact, it’s more of a crapshoot. Some people apply entirely too much epoxy when installing adapters. To my knowledge, Callaway doesn’t tip their shafts. I know some people prefer to tip Callaway shafts due to how far the adapter tip extends past where the shaft is seated in the adapter (1/2 inch). But I’ve always thought Callaway adapters feel perfectly fine untipped.

If you’re removing the ferrule, might want to account for a little more than 1.25”, depending on how carefully the ferrule was installed.
