TP5/TP5x quality control

I’ve seen several posters suggest that TM’s quality control is poor compared to Titleist. Something about Titleist’s vertical integration of manufacturing, TM tour players playing “hand selected” balls, comparing consistency by submerging TM and Titleist balls in saltwater, etc. Is there any truth to all that? In other words, would a scratch golfer ever see effects of the alleged inconsistency or poor quality control from a manufacturer like TM? Does anyone have any actual evidence of inconsistency in TM balls?

On WRX it doesn’t matter which OEM it is, there always is something wrong with them. Just like every shipping company is the worst. Someone is always finding some reason to get on their cross and announce to the world that a crime has been committed against them and will never buy/use their product again.

FWIW, I’ve never had a problem with any TP5 ball.

I put the TP's in my ball spinning machine, 1 out of 3 were so off they would fly out of machine, never had 1 Titleist do this...

TM quality control is solid. I don't quite know what you mean with saying it's bad in comparison to Titleist. Are we saying layers are uneven, emblems / ink is fain, marks on the cover, alignment paint is off or what? I don't quite get it. Prior gen TP5 cover sucked but, that was a design problem and not a quality control problem.

QC can be confused with durability and in many instances they do overlap. If so, yes the tp5 first gen was not cover durable at all compared to almost any premium ball. Performance tho was top of top though. 2019 my ball of choice with fixed exterior in front of new xv and titleist 3rd.

Ball tester thing is such BS lol!!! Just show us a vid of you opening a dozen balls of each and just 1 ball do that lol, very easy
