I noticed Phil working the gum yesterday, and now I see Tiger today. I wonder what brand they're chewing? :#

This is exactly how the alignment sticks started.

We see some PGA tour pro using driveway markers, we start obsessing about it and next thing you know golf stores are selling alignment sticks for $10 a pop.

Better stock up on gum before they too end up $5 pack.

Did you guys see that guy trip tiger? AND he kept the gum in his mouth! Now thats a pro right there, crazy mouth closing skills while trying not to fall flat on your face and keep his clothes pristine. I wonder if he practices his Dude tripping me saves ever. And where was security at? Extreme failure by the $8 an hour crew.

There are studies that show chewing gum can help with focus. Could be reason?

Gum . . . I could go on and on, lol. At least when Phil chews it he isn't compelled to roll it out and display it every once in awhile.

It does give Tiger kind of a casual, easy going vibe and he knuckle bumped a couple kids yesterday - I think it would be cool if he stopped and gave them each a piece of gum, but that would cost money!

This was my initial thought as well. I've dabbled in CBD for my aches and pains and one side effect I wasn't expecting was clarity of mind.

I believe spearmint flavour adds alertness as well?

Well yes but if it's CBD, the chewing aspect is at least countered by the fact that CBD is a muscle relaxant and keeps alertness in low doses + is anti inflammatory. For the swing specifically i just hope he doesn't chew while swinging

Yes CBD acts as a muscle relaxant, anti inflammatory, and in low doses also increases focus

EDIT - So it’s definitely CBD. There’s video of Phil taking CBD drops on the course from earlier this week. Interesting stuff. I see all of the positives of CBD and view it as not a big deal whatsoever. I wonder what the tours stance is on this? Or did they take a stance and that’s why we suddenly are seeing this used?

I saw him taking something from a dropper. I was wondering what it was and CBD makes a lot of sense. Interesting to see how that goes over with Garrigus getting a marijuana suspension a few weeks ago.
