New Balance golf shoe warranty stinks

Apparently the spike complex separating from the shoe is ok with NB. They won’t replace the shoe, which is less than a year old. They said it isn’t covered. They offering a discount coupon toward other shoes. I just don’t see footjoy or adidas doing the same with this damage. yufo7cu0so8q.jpeg

Had it happen to me, before both FJ and Nike didn't do anything either. I would have taken a coupon towards another pair. Just glue it back together, that's what I did.

I had the same problem on six month old spikeless New Balance. The would not replace, offered a $40 discount and advice on extending shoe life. They have a problem with the durability of their adhesive. The spikeless nubs were barely even worn down yet. Foot joy, Adidias, Etonic etc would have replace with that sort of failure. Anyone else have a NB sole separation?

I have been looking at buying a cheap pair of New Balance shoes, I think I'll be passing. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Regarding Nike's warranty, I had a pair of Nike hiking shoes/boots 25 years ago that failed while on a long overnight hike within months of my purchasing them at a Nike outlet. They stated that since the manufacturing date was over a certain date range (I think it was a year), that it was not covered. I have not considered a single Nike item since...although I don't think they are really missing me.

Warranty sucks, but I think new balance is the best bang for buck shoe... especially for us wide footed folk

Sorry you too had a bad experience. One of my instances was when I bought a pair of Air Max Flair at the outlet store for around $30. The air sole gave out months later and I called them and they said to go back to the store and they did a trade in right there and gave me $190 trade in credit no questions asked, gave them right to them and walked out with a pair of vapormax.

Hope everyone finds a great resolution with whatever brand and sorry you guys had issues.

I don't think it is just New Balance, I think all Shoe Manufacturers will do anything and everything they can, in order to get out of a warranty replacement. Skechers, Adidas have done the same to me. I now have NB shoes and pretty much just expect them to be treated as a consumable and tossed out if anything "breaks." Shoe warranty replacements seem to be a tricky business.

Mostly PING clubs, with TaylorMade woods.

Bought two pairs of the NB Minimus spikeless last January, had the sole separation thing happen to me. They first told me that they wouldn't do anything about it and I'd have to contact the retailer. Then they told me to get in touch with a separate customer service department if the retailer wouldn't honor it. I sent photos (showing some wear...) and a proof of purchase to New Balance and they shipped me two new pairs within 3 days. The new models seem designed to be less likely to have the same sole-separation issues as before. Sounds like they maybe have been a little more accommodating recently.

I've had good experiences with both FootJoy and ASICS on warranty claims on shoes. ASICS (this was 3-4 years ago) replaced a pair that wasn't meeting the "waterproof" warranty within 6 months of purchase with a similar pair. Footjoy replaced a pair of XPS-1's (which had just been discontinued) with a manufacturing defect with a pair of new DNA's.

I have no experience with New Balance warranty on golf shoes but I do with their running shoes. I bought a nice pair of their running shoes and only got to wear them about 10 times before the support strap over the top of the foot tore the woven material on the shoe below it. I never even used them to run in but wore them to work and when traveling because they were so comfortable. I sent them pics and a CS rep called me to tell me that they were not covered under warranty. I had owned them for about 3 months or so. I didn't even get the offer of a discount on a new pair.

I had similar issues with NB golf shoes, but now I wear trail shoes primarily and don't seem to have issues.

I bought a pair of New Balance Golf shoes for the first time in September of 2021.  That summer all my older golf shoes wore out so I also purchased a pair of Footjoys and a pair of Ecco golf shoes.  I bought the NB because I have other NB non-golf shoes that comfortably fit my wide feet.  So the NB were the least comfortable, the FJ ran worse to size, and the Ecco were far & away the best.  Recently I noticed that the right NB golf shoe has started delaminating in the toe area where I push off in the golf swing.  It looks eerily similar to the photo above.  I just posted a 2 star review on Amazon based on comfort and delamination.  Based on the comments above, I don't expect NB to offer anything to make me whole.  I probably should wear the shoes in the wet to see if the delamination allows water to infiltrate since NB does have a 2 year water proof guarantee.  Bottom line, even though the Ecco cost way more, I'd definitely buy them again.  I wouldn't recommend anyone buying New Balance golf shoes.
