Equipment at SEC Women’s Tourney

Our club in Birmingham hosts the above mentioned championship. Being the equipment junkie that I am, the first thing I look at is the clubs they are all using, especially considering the similarities in clubhead speed. My first observation was that Ping I210s and Titleist AP2’s dominate the iron category. Perhaps the aggressive spin of those is appealing? The other thing I found striking was the lack of players distance irons. Very few P790s, PXG’s, or I500s. Lots of ping and cally hybrids. Ping G400 LST’s were high for driver counts.

They love the fans out there with them, great ambassadors for the game. Oh, one more thing, they got game.

Yeah,

I much prefer watching the LPGA events over the men's events, and seeing their WITB's, because they have about the same distance and swing speed as I do.

I enjoy watching the women on TV and am always more interested in what's in their bag than the can't relate men's. Good post and wish there would be more LPGA what's in the bag listed here as well.

My home course recently hosted a pretty big junior tournament (boys and girls), and I saw a lot of the same things. Loads of AP2s, Ping I series, and Srixon Z series. I did see quite a few sets of the TM P770s and P790s. The kids could play, and were filling their bags with clubs to help them score their best.

Driving irons need lots of swing speed in my guess.Hybrids are for normal people! And yes the young ladies hit further than me so real relevance in witb!

During the broadcast of the Lotte Championship at Ko Olina this past weekend, the announcer said one player (forgot who) carries 6 (?) FW woods and irons start at 7-iron.

Doesn’t allot of this have to do with certain oem’s do more to support high school/ college programs than others thru discount programs. etc...

Aza Munoz starts her irons with a i210 7-iron. She has 4, 5 and 6-hybrids, a 5-wood and a driver.
