First, thanks to Oxygen putters for the opportunity.

The first time out for me was our local event the “Sanford Mini-Masters”. The tournament is a day drinking mini-golf tournament where all the breweries and restaurants in our downtown area shows the Masters and each designs a mini-golf hole. The last hour we go back to the host venue Celery City Craft and watch the final hour of the tournament (even on early morning finishes as happened this year).

All but 1 in our group of 6 (the 5 year old) used the putter for the tournament. I am a 2.7 handicap, my wife plays to a 12, my 5 year old plays at least 9 holes a week, and everyone else Mini-golfs only. Putting is the strongest part of my game (either because it comes easy or I never change putters, could be both).

If you like your putter on the lighter side, but still want the ball to move as if it was on the heavier side, then the insert used in the Trillium accomplishes this goal. I must admit it took some getting used to (mainly the grip) as my gamer of 12 years my Odyssey White Hot XG #7 has a massive amount of lead tape on it and is on the heavier side. Once I got used to the new feels the Trillium performed quite well. The ball gets into a roll fairly quickly.

The only negative, the grip for me is the main issue. I have never got on with fatter grips and the material (leather) didn’t really help make it feel any better. My only other complaint is length, but I am going to chop the putter down to 34 inches and change out the grip to a pistol style and see how things go, so stay tuned.

On the awesome side, I won the tournament with the Trillium. Thanks to the putter I won a $50 gift card to the host venue, 2-64 Oz Growlers of the Craft Beer of my choice, a shirt, a hat, and 4 rounds of golf at our local muni-Mayfair. So congrats Oxygen golf, you won the “Masters”.

All righty then - first, let me thank Bernie with Oxygen Putters & TMISIG for working with WRX to create this opportunity! I am in touch with him ongoing, and he is one of the easiest people in the golf world to communicate with - other than DavePelz4 that is.

Here's my story, and I'm sticking to it:

After being in and out of golf for many years, and semi-retiring, I took the leap into trying to save another course from going under. That's a story for another day, but it sets up what I am doing with my Oleander putter that I selected.

Since this club has slowly been swirling the drain, nothing new has been put in place for many a year. So, imagine the surprise some of the member displayed when they had the opportunity to try out one of the newest designs in putters today! I have made it available for any and all, and here are some of the paraphrased comments so far:

The feel of the putter is really nice. It isn't a sharp strike feeling or a too soft feeling, but the feedback overall is nice.

The initial weight feels quite heavy, but when making the stroke, it is well balanced and rolls the ball nicely.

Everyone loves the grip! It has been designed well and feels great in the hands.

The head is a little difficult to look at initially, but once you get the feel of the putter, you don't notice how it looks.

One day, I had people wanting to try it, but with only one putter, some were disappointed not to have been able to try it that day. I think that is a good thing, as the members who play here now have had the chance to try the newest technology on the market today, and look forward to their next visit, when they can be first in line to try this putter.

FWIW, doing some carpet putting, I can tell you that the balance in this putter is great, and the grip does feel extremely good in the hands. When I get my work done, I'll be taking it out on the course myself.

Thanks again to Bernie and WRX for providing this opportunity to me - and to all the golfers at Scotfield GC, where I'm at presently!

I'm looking forward to reading about others experiences with their Oxygen putters as well...especially, if Jack Pearsall shows his approval.

Ya'll have a great day, and feel free to contact me if you have questions about the Oxygen Oleander putter!

Thanks, Bernie & good luck with your new product! Count on me to help you in any way that I can!
