I see some posts regarding stretching and workout routines, as well as swing speed, etc. Just as an FYI, we have a program here at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN to assess and address golf issues from a Sports Medicine perspective. This is an FYI only.

BTW, this is just an option. For guys in the Midwest, or who don't mind traveling, they can visit a world class medical facility with a top team to give you advice on a stretching/strengthening program, fitness, nutrition, and if needed, a sport's psychology consultation. Disclaimer: I practice at Mayo in the Spine Center, so I focus primarily on non operative management of back and neck pain.

Ha, I wish I had more info. It's a program we've been running for a few years now. Trying to tailor a program just for golfers to assess core strength, flexibility, and how to address those issues. As well as anything else like nutrition or yips, etc. As far as the bad back, well, best thing you can do is work on core, core, core strengthening. As Tiger found out, backs and golf don't always mix well. Some of the best routines you can consider would be Pilates and/or Yoga. I usually recommend to my patients with back pain that are golfers to do both. Gotta take care of the most important club in your bag.......your body.
