Epic Flash Sub Zero Naturally Draw Biased?

I have read virtually every thread on the EFSZ results people have posed so far. Recently I have been shaking off the winter rust and comparing this head to my 816 DBD (gravity core toe up). I have hit 2 separate EFSZ heads with my shaft from the 816 DBD (AD TP 6x) and both are complete hook machines compared to my 816DBD. Doesn't matter if I move the slider weight all the way to the Fade position and mess with the cogs. These differences are substantial. The spin on the EFSZ is also substantially higher (+300 rpms) as well.

I have yet to read another post complaining about this but is anyone else seeing something similar especially if coming from the 816DBD?

I hit the EFSZ a couple of days ago and didn't find it to be draw biased. The original ESZ seemed fade biased to me, as did the 816 DBD.

Its possible you have your DBD set so that its extremely fade biased and anything that is neutral seems to be draw biased.

I figured the 816DBD is more on the fade bias side but every year I hit all the latest drivers (especially the Pings) and I hit them all pretty straight. Currently I play my 816DBD with N,S cogs so pretty much standard with the gravity core on the toe side. In my prior driver (Callaway Alpha) I did the same thing with the heavier weight in the toe. That said moving the sliding weight all the way in the Fade position made almost no impact to minimizing the hook on the EFSZ. Just found it really surprising since I play a pretty straight ball with all my clubs. It really reminds me of the huge hook I experienced back in the day when I bought a R1 with VTS Silver 7x. Killed this combo at a demo day but the one I bought had the same huge hook. Needless to say that driver was very short lived.

It could be a mental thing. I have fought the hook all my life. Every driver I’m handed is supposedly setup anti-hook and I can hook them easily... What I find is that when I get a club that is anti-hook I get more confident in swinging more naturally and go at it a little more, which always means I start going left more. With clubs that are neutral I focus more on my swing path and not swinging too hard because I’m afraid of going left.

But to answer your question I think the flash sub is pretty neutral. I generally hit about a 10-15 yard draw, with the one I tested it was pretty straight with about a 5 yard draw.

Doesn’t spin have an effect on that too. I couldn’t keep a sldr off the left side of the course. I can get the epic flash going left too if I’m not warmed up.

I have found it to be fairly neutral feeling, however my normal shot shape is a fade with the driver. I definitely have not dealt with a left miss while using the EFSZ even when I had a week long hooking spell with all other clubs.

I think it's important to understand what we are talking about when you refer to a draw or fade biased face. All that means is that the hosel is leaning (either towards the target for a draw bias or away from the target for a fade bias). Further more that bias is only really relevant if you just drop the club down behind the ball and don't manipulate the face angle yourself. If you square up the face to your target line, you have removed any bias from the driver. What you have also done however is change the loft. Squaring up a draw biased head ups the loft and vise versa for fade bias. The fact that you are hooking the SZ more could be a result of the forward CG location. That can drop spin but it also makes the head less stable and your misses get punished big time.
