What to do with my wedge shafts? (Too much spin)

Currently play Steelfiber I110-S in my irons and love them. Great flight and spin so I took a chance on them in the wedges.

In the wedges I also went with I110-S shafts and while the weight is good and the feel is good, but they spin a lot on shots above “half swings.” They have great feel on the chips and pitches but if I swing 70-90% on any of my 52/56/60 they can get anywhere from 5-20ft of back spin.

My initial thought is to go with 110-X since I don’t want to go heavier. Is this the right thought?

The stiffer flex should reduce the spin slightly...when I used the 110’s I found the wedges spun a lot too mine were X flex. I switched to the 125’s in the wedges and it helped. Same concept...little less shaft play and kick

too much spin on half shots is NOT a stiffness issue so going up in flex is unlikely to help. Its much more likely a weight issue. Knowing those SF's it's more likely a swing weight issue - have you had the swing weight checked? But it could be a shaft weight issue as well. Go play around with some lead tape.

Agreed on the above...but the op said on above half swings the spin gets real high. I think shaft weight is an issue either way and in my experience the SF in sand wedges spun a lot. Always felt like too much kick in the lower part of the shaft.

The OP said he gets too much spin on anything OVER 1/2 shots. IMHO, the clubs are not the problem. controlling spin on wedge shots has to do with technique and loft choice. In other words, If you hit a full 60* 100 yds and it spins off the green, the thing to do is play a 100 yd shot with your sand or gap wedge to lessen the amount of spin applied to the ball.

Don't overthink the problem.
