Chasing Scratch Podcast - Anyone a Fan?

I hadn't seen any threads about this, but wondering if anyone else here has listened to it. I came across it about a month ago and just finished working through their Season 1 episodes.

I have been really impressed with the show. Good production values/editing and entertaining all around. The general gist of the show is two guys, starting at 11 handicaps at the beginning of last year, trying to get down to scratch in one year (which they admit isn't likely) and documenting their progress/travails. Given that Season 2 just started, you can intuit that there is still progress to be made on that goal, lol.

I'm not a podcast guy, but I listen to Chasing Scratch. They are funny and admit that they have no chance, but are going to document their story just for our entertainment. #LGLG

I have been listening to this and it is very entertaining. Its nice to see 2 average joes figuring out what golf is and how to accomplish changing their own games.

I started listening about 3 episodes into season 1, very entertaining and relatable.

Just subscribed as tipped by this thread. Will see where it goes. Love podcasts while traveling for work.

I’m enjoying it... just started... does Eli say where he is in Kentucky? I wouldn’t mind trying to play a round with him.

He has said he lives close to Lakeside Golf Course, which is in Lexington.

Just wanted to bump this back up to the top... it's a great podcast.

Enjoying it, but have to avoid it at times, I feel like they make me a horrible golfer. On episode 15 if I decide to press play.

Ha! I can see that... I wish I had a friend to compete with like they do... I’m in their age range and similar circumstances and I have problems focusing on the course sometimes.

I’d love some competition to keep me focused.

It was awesome while I was binge-listening to catch up. Now that I'm all caught up the delay between episodes is kinda long. I wish I had saved season 2 until the end of the year and listened to the whole thing together.

We are a week out from Season 3... I'm half contemplating starting a Searching for Craiggers thread here... Seems like he might be findable.

2019 - March - a guy named Craig played a round with Ramsey and 2 additions (Mike and the dude from Hosel Jockeys) at Tobacco Road. Apparently they played from the tips and were decent golfers (Ramsey has a solid driver swing)

Anyone else still listening to this? I've been enjoying this season, and the late summer run stuff has been fantastic... They also use my full name for e-mail questions, which isn't awesome, but whatever...

Found this podcast maybe 2 weeks ago. I’m 6 episodes deep into season 3!!! Lol. I have a long commute to work, but I love Mike and Eli!! Golf and references galore. Kudos to you Mike and Eli... and kudos to you Craigers!!!!!!!

Don't have much time for podcasts. but the mention of Justified alone is worthy of a response.  "You pull, I'll put you down."

I've just got to episode 16 of season 1. It's entertaining, but it started to feel like it's entirely scripted quite some time ago. 

Just found this podcast and burned through the first season. A lot of relatable stuff in there and it's funny. Seems like they've grown a pretty good community on twitter. There's really good info from some of the guests in the first couple episodes of season 2

It’s not scripted and the first season has a ton more “early” content… I was at the final major on Sunday, they aren’t good enough to fake the results.

highly recommend giving season 2 a try, they talk to some smart people and mostly ignore the advice.

Amazing how many people were at the final major… the event the next day was awesome… more than anything i was shocked how normal all the people who showed up were… open bar had no disasters… it was a good time!

Even having attended the final major, I enjoyed the podcast and YouTube finale…

that said, I still think they have a ways to go on mindset before they get down close to scratch.

I stumbled on this recently and cruising through.  Towards end of season 3 now.  I'm not sure about the scripting.  I do wonder how these guys came out of the gate with a fairly professional podcast.  The golf ability/approach/high's/lows seem very real.  Their (lack of) understanding of the handicap system seemed genuine.  I really enjoy their journey and Mike probably has a better swing then me, but we fight the same issues (along with many others I think).  Interesting to hear what advice he is getting and trying yet how hard it is to break old habits.  

Pro tip:  When it is just Mike and Eli, you can use 1.2 or 1.4 speed for playback.  When they get a guest slow it back to 1.0.  The guests, except for maybe the mental guy, have been amazing especially in season 3.  I also keep the 15 second advance button handy for when they go off on a tangent about food, movies, etc.  I think they have their own natural laugh track that gets a bit old at times.
