Ebay seller possibly selling fake Taylormade M5 (*******)

Just purchased this. The seller had a ton of feedback. I didnt filter through his negative comments though, and it looks like there are quite a few negative comments about possible fakes etc. I am also looking at the pictures in the auction, and **the Hosel's arrow isnt pointing directly at STD Loft**. The **seller has also posted a new auction with the same pictures as the one I just purchased**. Hoping to get my money back and most likely just go into a store and buy one without all the hassle.********

They've sold lots of fake wedges too. This M5 looks terrible. Shame on them. Their listings all state "100% genuine" too. :anguished:

That’s not a fake M5, it’s just crappy QC from Taylormade. There have been tons of threads on ksouth especially a few years ago. Has he ever sold a fake? I don’t know, but there are tons of people here who will vouch for his products including me. Never received anything other than exactly what was described and certainly no fakes. It’s not unusual for him to re-use photos as he sells many of the same item just with different shafts, etc.

It sounds like you haven’t even received the item yet and you’re saying it’s fake....

You're covered by paypal, and this guy has sold 100k plus listings and hasn't been shut down. Looks like the angle of the pic is a little off, I would wait and see if I were you.

You haven’t received the club but you’re already claiming it’s fake? With the amount of clubs this guy sells through his eBay accounts he would have been shutdown by eBay and the manufacturers. At least wait until you receive the club before calling a seller out. Odds are in your favor that your club is legit.

I've bought several new prior season clubs from this seller and have never had a problem regarding fakes. I would agree about the shill bidding based on my experiences, but have still ended up with some pretty good deals.

IMO KSouth sometimes deals in QC rejects. A few years back I bought a Cobra Amp Cell hybrid from him. I noticed that the black finish was a little off and as luck would have it, it started to come off more quickly that it should have. I happen to have a good friend who manages a golf shop and left it for him to show the Cobra Rep. Sure enough, it was legit. But, the Rep thought that it was a "second" sold to certain online retailers to resell. To be clear, it was only the Reps opinion but he did verify authenticity but indicated that the finish was awful and should have never done what it did.

I've had good luck with this seller but their negative feedback shows an interesting pattern for people winning auctions at super low bids.

Your "evidence" sucks. I'd wait till you get the item in hand to make the leaps you are.

Also agree with the notion these are possibly QC rejects that TM sold off.

I guess what reinforced my concern of legitimacy is that the item I bought was relisted in a second auction. Thanks for the input.

They use the same stock photo as they just reopen/reuse the listing on a daily basis

Seriously, you should not be buying golf clubs on-line. Buy at retail from a pro shop and sleep well at night. It is worth it.

Bought many clubs from ksouth, he's legit and bargains can be had. Often his condition is better than I expected, especially used. He also tends to re-uses photos since he sells a ton of repeat stuff. That is better than "stock" graphic photos used by globalgolf, 3balls and a "Value" description.

There should be a pinned thread or "sticky" regarding KSouth. This stuff seems to come up once a month anymore.

I realize KSouth is a corporation, not some guy just trying to flip some clubs and make a quick buck, but how many times do we have to go through this same conversation? Does "He" occasionally sell something on eBay that isn't up to snuff -probably sure. Does "He" utilize shill bidding - maybe? (I've put in my max I'm willing to pay several times, and received a brand new club in shrink-wrap for FAR**** under my max bid. If "He" is doing shill bidding "He" isn't doing it very well.)

"He" has great connections to several OEMs to buy out their unsold inventory and probably makes a nice living off that, but at the same time is passing on savings to us buyers who don't need the latest and greatest with a "tour spec" sticker on the head. Last thing I bought from him was a set of TM P770 irons 4-PW for right around $375 to my door. After they arrived I checked GG and Dicks, they were still asking close to retail ($800?) and I'd have to pay sales tax.

Rant over, but I've got nothing but good things to say, and am amazed these threads keep popping up even though almost everyone who posts has positive comments. There was a thread about Will Peoples not long ago and most everyone said the the title should be changed so it didn't put him in negative light if someone did a Google search. Maybe all these KSouth threads should also be massaged?

That M5 looks fine to me. You say they’re using the same pic for multiple listings...I highly doubt a company would be re-using “fake” pictures. This has to be a case of “this is a great deal I’m buying it...oh crap it’s definitely fake I’m freaking out”. I don’t understand why people like these even bother buying clubs off EBay. At least wait until you get it to make a final judgement.

Very good....yes, there should be seven screw weights along the sole for the 4 - PW; #3 for the 0311XF and wedges have six!

Also, check the font for the 4 in the #4 iron and the W in the PW...again the font is incorrect.

Sent couple of photos of quickship irons vs the authentic pxg....they thanked me and took the item down on ebay!

Turns out the seller sold out of the club and is going to be refunding me + giving me 2 sleeves of bridgestones. Nice Guy!

He has a history of selling out of items in his auctions that were already sold to a customer(i guess). Got it today, as well as maintaining the taylormade 2 year warranty by buying it from an authorized retailer. Pretty stoked.

I have purchased brand name clubs from ksouth9 and other related sellers, and I had no problem registering them. They must be legit.

Unlike real fake clubs, they perform beautifully. Though their customer service is not quite top notch, I voucher their products.

oh wow another person who has never heard of ksouth9 questioning his authenticity. Color me shocked. There will always be people that will defend him to the death. I've seen mutiple threads with these exact concerns. I personally think he's selling some form of "2nds". There are way too may QC issues with the clubs he sells.

Hardly evidence of a potentially fake club...so I can understand being upset that the seller is using the same image for multiple listings and selling out of clubs, etc. but why take the leap to questioning the authenticity of the club? Doesn't seem logical.

I never said fakes, I believe he's selling some form and 2nd's and not disclosing it. There is no way one person/company is getting that many flawed clubs unknowingly. The amount of threads started by people with QC issues is alarmingly high.
