My 0211 irons arrived today perfectly boxed as others have stated. However, I had several custom specs that I requested and was skeptical that the
build would match up......Wrong --- The specs were spot on - swing weigh & length exact. Also they were spotless.... Kudos. I won't be able to hit them for a couple of weeks but have high hopes. Just an update for those curious as to current PXG status. Oh, I am fairly picky.
When the 0211's were released, the website said "limited time only". That disclaimer has since been removed from the website, so who knows where they are going with 0211 line. But they do seem more popular and more in demand than what was originally thought.
And as for not having a place for them, I don't see that as the case. There are many people who have gone to PXG fittings with the idea that they would be fit into either the 0311P or the 0311XF, just to find out that they hit the 0211's better. The 0211 performance is right there in line with the 0311XF with a slightly firmer feel, but at nearly half the price.
So while I have no idea of what the plans are for PXG, IMO with the release of the 0311SGI, my opinion would be that the 0311XF might be the odd man out.
And while I had an initial bad experience with the QC when I received my 0211's, PXG did go above and beyond to correct it. And now that my irons are to my specs, they are one of the best performing irons I have played bar none.
PXG 0211 irons standard pricing rduced to $125!

My 0211 irons were under 2 weeks from the order date.
Ordered mine last Tuesday and picked them up today, 8 days. Great turn around time.
I found out I did not get the hero price so I would imagine if I call them Friday they will give me the hero price and refund some of my money.....at least I hope so and I was certified.
Hero Pricing: $295 ea. Milled wedges and $320 ea. Darkness wedges. Still $95 ea. for 0211. No up charge for the phenomenal Mitsubishi MMT shaft, as well (80 gram Stiff or 70 gram Regular).
How do you like them?
I only have the 4 iron and love it so much that I have a fitting scheduled next week in Scottsdale. Can’t afford Gen3, but I will try them anyway. Going the there get fit for 0211’s and, as a Vet, the pricing is awesome.
Haven’t had a chance to put them in play yet. Hit them great on the monitor. I will report back Saturday. Hopefully the rain will be gone by Friday evening so the course isn’t too wet! Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving PXG Troops!
Does the fact that the 0211's are made by PXG hinder their ability to be considered a great set of irons? I have been a big Ping fan for many years, at address I would swear these must be a new set of Ping irons. I wonder if these were made by Ping would their be more people singing their praises. If these were the new G420's and Pat Perez put them in play, would people be shouting from the rooftops? I recently picked up a set of Ping i5's, lots of love for the i5's on WRX, comparing both of them at address the 0211's seem to have less offset to my eye. As well all know WRXer's hate offset:)
Can’t disagree with this. Being PXG they just don’t get the same kind of exposure, but I’ve found the 0211 to be great.
The Black Friday pruning on these is awesome.
Quick question. I am a digger with my P790’s and the 0211’s look to have much more bounce aa d wondering if this will be good for a digger. I see people have commented on this set for pickers.
i only have an 0211 4 iron and I love it from the tee and the fairway. Wondering if the rest of the set will be good with the increased bounce and sole width.
Fitting scheduled in two weeks. Just wondering who have used both 0211’s and P790’s.
I’m a digger by nature and the 0211’s work excellent for me due to the bounce. These irons changed my game tremendously since acquiring them.
Thanks for the input. Always hard to judge during a fitting hitting off mats.
i can sure tell the difference in bounce from my 0211 4 iron and 790 5 iron. Hope this Hero deal sticks in a few more weeks. I want to pick up a Gen1 hybrid for $95 too.
May even think about the set Sand Wedge too.
I wish I would have got the 4 iron when I got my set but didn’t. The 5 is one of my favorite clubs now because of how easy it is to hit and how far it goes. I’d be interested to see how the Sw does in this set.
also, the heroes pricing goes until end of the year.
0211 4 iron is my favorite off the tee on short par4’s. It’s my 215 yd club from the fairway.
I really like the Elevate Tour shaft. I have Modus 105 shafts in my 790’s and I believe I hit them too high. I really can’t wait to see how it goes in my fitting here in Scottsdale next week.
Yea, just emailed PXG because a few places on their site it shows “prices good until 2 Dec”. It also shows Hero prices good until the end of the year.
I’m a deep, deep digger and have a very steep angle of attack. I love the 0211’s in that regard but keep in mind that they truly are progressive set. The long irons are like the 0311XF while the short irons are like the standard 0311 or even 0311P. The soles definitely get narrower and the bounce decreases.
For those that didn’t get the 0211 4 iron, I CANNOT recommend the 0311X driving iron enough. I bought the Gen1 for $95 Heroes price and it may end up being the best club in my bag. It is wonderful!
I didn’t see any of the Gen 1 driving irons when I looked recently. Do you have to call to find it?
The lack of exposure on the 0211's seems kind of weird, the limited amount of reviews on line make it hard to temp one to purchase a set. PXG in my area is a no go for an actual fitting, so I ended up just buying whatever I thought would be a good fit. So far so good. The positive reviews from actual owners was what swayed me to purchase a set, most who have em like em. The hero and discounted pricing has reduced the cost to an affordable level, thus taking away the PXG hater's favourite avenue of hatred. The PRICE.
sorry, wrong thread...
I was able to play them on Saturday. Initial impressions are very good. Great ball flight, great distance and distance control. Felt better than any cast iron I have ever played, not quite as soft as my old set of Srixon 585's but I was pleasantly surprised on the feed back I got on the course. I was really surprised on how well I played with them the first time out, especially going to the Mitsubishi MMT's, (first time playing graphite shafts in Irons), I usually struggle with new irons the first few rounds. Conditions were super soft due to all of the rain we had. I am getting another round in tomorrow.
Can you give me your thoughts on the 0211 vs 585’s?
I have the 0211 and a new backup set of 565 and just wondering differences I may see...my season is over until 2020 sometime so won’t have chance to get out and play until then.
The 585's are probably the best set of irons I have played, they were just right for me in every aspect. First round I played with the 0211's they were comparable performance wise, nearly identical except the 0211's wanted to stay a little straighter and flew a little higher. Appearance wise, to me, the 0211's look a little better behind the ball, thinner topline(remind me of i500's). The 585's feel better, can't argue that but again the 0211's feel dang good, especially for a cast iron. 0211's have a nice muted click when struck well.
Being the complete club ho that I am I bought the 0211 irons because of the good reviews, insanely good price and I hit them very well on the sim. So, a ho has to ho...
Today I probably had one of the worst rounds with my irons I can recall in the last few years. They were constantly coming up a club, to at times a club and a half short. They seemed to have a weird flight, very penetrating to start then would just balloon and die in the air, like they hit a wall, not much wind to speak of either. I was hitting short irons well, but still coming up short with everything. I know there is usually an adjustment period, first round was great, came back to earth this round. They performed so off today it has me rethinking my purchase and regretting selling the Srixons.
I'm guessing it was just my swing today. I have a feeling it's going to take a while adjusting to the graphite shafts and the lighter weight. Everything just seemed off. I have played the Nippon Modus Tour 105 shafts in my last couple of sets, 3 years to be exact. If these continue to have the same issues I'll reshaft them with the Nippons and see how that goes.
I'm probably overreacting, just need to acclimate to the new irons and shafts. I'll report back this weekend, I have rounds booked Friday, Sunday and Monday.
Thanks for the reply. Like I’ve said in here already, since picking up these 0211 my iron game went to the next level...the combination of the head and shaft just works for me. Really loving the 0211’s...but like you I am a Club Ho too so I got the itch for a back up set to tinker with when I wasn’t playing for anything serious. I ended up with a combo set of Cleveland UHX 5 &6 irons and the Srixon 565 in 7-Pw. I was able to play (1) round with them the first week in November, but it was such an awful day for golf it’s not a fair comparison. I went from playing in 70’+ weather to playing in 30’ weather (upper 20’s wind chill) with slight rain and very windy.
I do think the Srixons has a slightly better feel even in that weather but I don’t think either set is going anywhere. I’ll play the 0211’s during my “season” when I play a few local tourneys and scrambles and tinker with the Srixon set during other times of year.
cant go wrong with 2 sets right? 😜
