First time re-shaft, add factory adapter

I’ve never done any formal club work besides regripping clubs (have done this many times)

Any reason I should be concerned about trying to attach a new factory adapter to a new graphite shaft? Is the process is as easy as I’ve read: New graphite shaft, sand end, purchase quality epoxy and add to tip, insert shaft end into tip and let sit?

Also scuff the inside of adapter, clean all parts thoroughly with acetone or alcohol, let dry, install ferrule, apply epoxy to both shaft and inside adapter and install.

Essentially it is that simple, the only added complication is if your want/need to 'tip' the shaft beforehand, and that's a topic in and if itself.

Don't fall into the trap of adding too much epoxy, more doesn't equal better, just enough for a light coating on the tip and then a little coating the inside of the adapter will be more than enough and you'll still end up wiping up a lot of oozed excess.

Also, don't over sand the tip, you only need to remove the paint and expose the graphite. I don't use sandpaper for the task I scrape it off with a blade on end, not a motion as you may use to whittle a stick, just a scraping motion to remove the paint. Whatever method you use the objective is the same, remove the paint to give the expoxy something to bond to.

Finally, make sure the adapter is in the head when you install the shaft, for alignment purposes, else you may end up with a visually crooked alignment of shaft graphics relative to the designated insertion orientation.

Guys had given you most the tips, I want to add this.

Adapters has different insertion depths you do not want to over pre the lip .

Measure the insertion depth and tape off the shaft tip and sand oss the clar coat forat, dry fot dry fot dry fit. It's easier to sand off more if you need to instead of the other way around.

If the tip had sanded off more paint than the adapter could cover, just cover it with black enamal paint after the epoxy is cured.

There were a few cases where I had found grease left from manufacturing the adapter inside the fitting. make sure you squeeky clean the adapter.
