Alpine Country Club 08/22

If anyone is interested in playing Alpine Country Club in N.J. let me know. It’s a Tillinghast design, high end club and ranked 22nd in the NJ top 100

Would love to play this course as it is close (I'm in Hudson county) and high up on the list of courses I want to play.

I would love to play Alpine also. Played alot of NJ courses but never had the chance to play that one. Im in Bergen County.

Looped there one summer as a college kid. Didn't truly appreciate how great a course it was until years later sadly. Kind of short, even back then(not sure if it's been lengthened in the last 25 years or so), blazing fast greens with a few buried elephants on some. Nice elevation changes.

agreed, played there a few times with a friend who used to caddy there in the same time frame. my memory's a bit fuzzy as it's been 25 years or so since i've played there, but for some reason, i remembered montammy being a bit more wide open off the tee.

yes and no -- montammy is tight for guys who hit it over 265y off the tee. before that there's room -- if you play the course SMART as a long player, you have chance to make birdies, hit fairways and a ton of greens.

ah, makes sense. i pretty much topped out at 265...maybe the occasional 270+. you play a different game than i'm familiar with.

I used to caddy and work the bagroom there. If you can get on, do it! I've caddied for members from winged foot who have said alpine is a tougher course than theirs. The superintendent is top notch and keeps the greens at 11+. The place is a 7000 yard carpet. Leave your ego at home.

Also caddied for Roger Clemens when he was in the area, his next stop the following day was Pine Valley if that is any indication of the caliber of course we are dealing with.

I always Google courses mentioned. Beautiful course, sadly, way, way far from me.

Ok guys had the foursome filled one guy can’t make it now due to a job change. Lunch 1:00 tee off around 2:15. Cost is $250 we just need one more.

Have had great success filling groups for other courses on wrx let’s keep it going!

Wow OK just had a guy drop out for work reasons. This happened earlier this month but I was able to fill it. Short notice I know, but if anyone is free to play alpine this Thursday let me know as we need a fourth. 1:00 lunch and tee off 2:15 thanks!
