Flex Question

Where would a soft-stepped Modus 3 120 stiff play on the scale? These shafts are in wedges...curious how they'd play in relation to TT Wedge Flex. I'm guess they'd be pretty close?

I assume you mean a TT DG Wedge shaft? If so, Modus 120's start out quite a bit softer than DG's, soft stepping's just going to increase the gap.

Now, for wedges, with the much shorter playing lengths and slower swing speeds means any difference in the longer clubs will be reduced quite a bit in the wedges. So how different it might feel may not reflect what the 'numbers' might say.

Am I correct that the DG "Wedge Flex" shafts you see are just normal S200s?

Thank you. I had assumed that in the wedges, the difference would be much less, than say, in a 3 iron. I just picked up a set of Vokey SM7's with a soft-stepped Modus3 120S in them and I'm hoping they won't be too drastic of a difference from my stock Modus3 120's in my AP2s and normal TT DG S200

s200 or s300 - depends on the OEM.

While that may be true for the stiffness - weight is generally more important and the weight difference is much more likely to be noticeable (~12-16 gm).

Easy. Modus 120 Stiff ~114 gm uncut and DG's tapers are 129-130 gm uncut. Although I didn't account for the soft stepping so the weight difference would be a bit more since soft stepping will drop the weight a few grams more than a straight in install.

Sorry, correct. I was confused, thought you meant the soft-stepped shafts would be 12-16 grams lighter than non-stepped. Yes, I had already accounted for weight difference between TT DG tapers and Modus 120. I don't think the flex difference will be very noticeable. Thank you for your input.
