I’ve just bought a Cleveland Huntington Beach #10, new, for next to nothing so I want to improve the grip. Currently it has the standard Cleveland grip and I want a jumbo pistol.

I’m more comfortable with my Bettinardi jumbo Lamkin cords that a Superstroke 2.0 midsize, the diameter on these is similar but the shield shape suits my grip.

Recommend me some of your favourites please, initial looks by me suggested the Winn Dri-Tac Jumbo pistol, the Superstroke GTR 2.0, the Golf Pride Tour SNSR 140cc and possibly the P2 React Tour.

What should I be looking at as well as the above?

The weights of those grips you mentioned run the full spectrum...from very light to pretty dang heavy!

Each will result in a different swingweight for your putter. The difference will be significant between the heaviest grip and the lightest grip.

I have the smaller SNSR grip on my putter and I love it! I also like the new SS pistol grip but not as much as the SNSR

The new SS Traxion GTR Pistol 2.0 weighs 51 grams IIRC...the small SNSR is 104 grams i believe. Each of those grips on the same putter at the same length will swingweight VERY differently.

The SNSR is 104cc rather than 104g I think.

And I think the Stock Cleveland is 85g for reference.

Iomic has some great putter grips and have different weights. 55g,65g, and 75g

I also really enjoy the ping putter grips. They have many different sizes and weights.

Is the SS pistol tour 1.0 too small for you?

Yes, I prefer a larger diameter than the 1.0

Yes you’re right...I stand corrected!

I've had the SS pistol GTR Tour (2 years) and 1.0 (Hated 1.0) and Flatso 1.0 (Good grip, not pistol though), Cameron Pistolero (a bit firm), SNSR Blue ( smaller one, straight), Lamkin Deep etched (Bettinardi) .

Some of these are not pistol grips, I know.

Currently I'm playing the new SNSR Pistol Tour 105cc, 90 gm. Really like it, great feel in hand, large enough to be like a mid size while not weighing too much.

I think I'll be sticking with it for a long time.

BTW, I put left hand low.

If 1/2” shorter is 3 SW points, then a 33” putter will be 12 SW heavier than the same model 35” putter?

I'd like to find 1 for a Stroke Lab but the 2 I like (SNSR Contour Pro, Traxion GT Tour 1.0) are too heavy.

The Superstroke Pistol isn’t too different from the standard SL grip is it?

I'm not a fan of the foam rubber top layer grips, tried them several times and for me just not enough feel and feedback.

I like the Iomic classic mid-size but my go to grip the Ping PP58 mid-size grip, it has the perfect shape and feel and weighs in at 74 grams. I usually blackout the Ping lettering. Have thought about the Pure Midsize but haven't seen any pictures of the shape and like a pistol shape.

Assuming the headweight and grip weight are the same a shorter putter will have a lighter swingweight. That's why Scotty Cameron uses heavier weights as the length of his putters decreases...to keep the SW up where he wants it.

Super stroke pistol GT 2.0 or older pistol GTR2.0

I’ve bought a Winn Dri-Tac Pistol Jumbo Lite in the end. It’s 55g, so 30g lighter than the grip that’s coming off. So, swingweight will be a bit higher, which probably isn’t a bad thing.

He wanted to feel the putter head more so he uses a Winn jumbo lite grip, fiddy grams? He putts well with it but gotta admit he thinks a little smaller would feel better. Can’t have everything..,oh, and he’s not really cognizant of feeling the putter head better with this setup.

I need something for my Strokelab. I really like the Pistol GT 1.0 but it's almost 20 grams heavier than stock.

I won’t be changing the grip on this putter in the near future, even though I’ve bought one. I played with it today, no three putts, lag putts all really close. Hugely impressed especially as it only cost me £45 new. I shall buy another putter to try out the Winn Pistol grip I bought. ?

Hmm, I can’t be trusted. The Winn grip is now on my Cleveland. After deciding I didn’t need 7 putters and that 6 was enough...

The grip is really nice and the swingweight also seems very nice and nothing untoward after a few carpet putts just now. The proof will be in the putting, so to speak.

Hopefully the Bettinardi BB39 will arrive tomorrow to make the 6.

I prefer the Super Stroke Pistol 2.0 at 51 grams. It doesn't mess with the swing weight like some. PLus you have the option to put in a counterweight.

I love this Winn Dri-Tac Jumbo Lite grip, it’s just so nice in my hands and so solid on hands not moving. Much prefer it to the SuperStroke 2.0, the Stroke Lab Oversize and also the Lamkin Deep Etch Jumbo, although the latter is nice too.

Love the new GT series on superstroke traxion grips

SuperStroke 1.0 P .....all time favorite but can be hard to find/buy. Lamkin deep etched is my 2nd choice. Both weigh roughly 80-83 grams.

I started out using it with a claw grip, but now I primarily use a standard (slight overlap) grip and it has been great for keeping my SBST stroke on path. Also has the SS counterweight system if you like more weight in the hands.

Just went with a Super Stroke Pistol GT 2.0 on my Scotty Newport that had a Scotty Medium pistol grip on it. The new grip is bigger, weight a smidge less, and feel amazing. Really liking the balance of the putter and I think the larger grip (especially on the right hand) really allows me to stroke the ball better.

I'm liking my Garsen Quad Tour Pistol thus far.

Did you by any chance try the Claw 2.0 and Pistol GT 2.0 side by side? If so, what is the shape difference? I like the flat/square lower portion of the Claw, but would go for the slightly larger diameter of the Pistol if it has the same shape. Unfortunately I can't seem to find a Pistol GT locally....
