Ebay selling question

Recommended Posts

What happens if i end a listing on ebay?

Steps

Log in to your seller's eBay account.

Click on “My eBay” and select “Selling.”

Navigate to the item or listing you want removed.

Select “End my listing early” from the “More actions” drop-down menu located to the right of the item you want removed. ...

Select the option that best describes how you want your listing ended

Be aware that if you cancel a listing before it sells, it may count against your eBay seller rating.

As was mentioned a few posts above, when you click to end an item for sale, eBay provides an option menu to select why the listing is being cancelled. If you chose "_the item is no longer available for sale_" or "_there was an error in the listing_" it will count against you (give you a negative mark) on your eBay seller rating. The only choice that will not give you a negative mark is "_the item was lost or broken_".

During the last 12 months I once mistakingly selected _the item is no longer available for sale_, and it cost me a negative mark. When you get more than 3 marks over a 12 month period, eBay considers your selling status to be "below standard" and raises the final value fee charged to you for selling on the platform.

Be careful!

I agree with the above - I’ve ended many times with “item no longer available”. It’s honestly the only reason I’ve ever ended an auction early, and it was a legit reason - I have had items listed on BST and eBay simultaneously.

Honestly, I’m not even sure what a “seller rating” even is. I’m usually just concerned with feedback, especially positive percentage. Though, I’m sure some dork will want to chime in to explain how important the seller rating is.

Thanks guys. This is exactly what I was thinking about. I basically have a driver on Ebay for sale right now, and a guy in my league who might buy it from me next week if I still have it....ok so if I do just say item no longer for sale.

Also ive had some nike blue lc4 for sale for a month and no buyers I might as well as just keep them now!

Oh heck...I've canceled numerous listings due to "item no longer for sale"...I need to double check my seller rating!

He’s wrong, the negative mark is for cancelling a transaction, not for pulling a listing. I’ve done it probably a hundred times without an issue.
