Cleveland 588 MB - Do they really exist?

Been in the mood for some old MB's recently. Bounced back and forth between 695 mb's and the 588s.

For the life of me i couldn't find a single video review of the 588s, or a written review with a picture of the top line.

Ended up pulling the trigger on some used from ebay for peanuts. I like a compact blade length and thinner top line, any idea how they will compare to my 695 test 7i from a looks perspective?

Actually played with a guy yesterday who was using these exact irons. The looked so good. Dude was a beast. Was also playing a 80gr flowerband whiteboard in his rouge sub zero. 290 all day down the middle. I kept up with a couple of his misses.

Good to know they look good in person. I haven’t seen them or hit them. Could be a fairly cheap experiment that doesn’t pan out. But damn, they sexy!

I came across some gun metal 588 blades at PIAS. The ones I was looking at had huge offset especially for a blade. Even the PW had too much offset. Still almost bought them though. ?

The 588 cb was the first iron set that I decided to buy when I came to this site and started my journey as a ho. Excellent endo forging and I could hardly hit the sweet spot back then. I imagine the MBs are sensational. Never a bad thing said about them by the people that tried them.

If memory serves, these are some nice looking mb's, One of Cleveland's best. Solid clubs, good feel.

Hell yeah they exist and they feel like butta. Picked em up on the cheap on eBay and have been gaming them for a year or 2. My brother has nike vpros and these feel softer. These 588mbs are supposed to be jdm “endo” forged.

They are real and they're SPECTACULAR.

Anyone played both cb and mb? Major difference? I have the cb but curious about mb

Awesome, they look exactly like I had hoped. Any chance you could post a pic of the top line on 7i or similar? I can’t wait until next week when they arrive!

I can see you have the older Cleveland wedges as well, figured I’m going to need to buy some of those ?

I had both. The sole is the main difference. Much sharper leading edge on the MB. I really liked both but felt the CB is better all around even in the scoring clubs. 7-pw

5, 7, 9 top line

Appreciate the feedback and pics guys. They came in yesterday and are better than I could have hoped for. Thin topline, only a small amount of ofset, short blade. And they feel superb. Can’t wait to get them out on the course!

Almost bought a set when they came out but went with Adams CMBs instead. I remember the offset catching my eye a bit more than I liked but the result was there so nbd. I also remember these irons were fantastic on knockdowns, half shots, and pretty much anything less than full... Man I should nab a set haha.
