Hole in One #3

Recommended Posts

101yds and a little wind in the face. hit it 108-109, spun it back about 20ft, and i think it hung on the lip a second before dropping but couldnt really tell. It took forever!

It was my first swing of the day on the first hole of an executive course. That makes 3 on 3 different courses, with 3 different clubs, and my first since 2015.

Edit: I just realized that I got all 3 of them in the month of May which is a bit of an odd coincidence.

Good job. My only hole in one I thought I lost the ball (long par 3 with water in front, flag on front edge) before I discovered it in the hole. Hoping to add to the collection soon. How often do you play?

lol my apologies! theres such an element of luck involved. My dad has been playing 30 years and doesnt have one either. When i worked in Scottsdale, I met a gentleman by the name of Dave "gravy" Thomas. he was in his 80's and a good player for his age, and had been a member at a par 3 course for decades. He has over 50 hole in ones! Had 2 in a week while i was working there, and had been in the Arizona Golfer and other publications for his ace tally. Unreal...i wonder if hes still around and what his number is at now...

Thats awesome. None of my aces were far enough to have been looking for the ball first. 130yds was the longest one so that would be cool to have happen. Ive def. lost a ball and checked the hole just in case...never found it in there though...

I dont play nearly as much as i used to, about 15 rounds a year now. I used to play like 60-100 rounds a year from about 2000-2011 though, and still practice a fair amount as i dont have as much time. Play to a 1-3hdcp nowadays but have been as low as +1 like a decade ago. My wedge game has always been the strongest part of my game, so I guess its fitting that all 3 of my aces came with a wedge of some variety.

There is a course I play that has a plaque on the wall behind the check in counter with three balls mounted on it.. A regular player there had a hole in one on one of the par 3's on the front then got another one on one of the par 3's on the back in the same round. Two days later he aced one of the other par 3's . Two in the same round and three in the same week all different holes.

Sounds like you are a lot better than me haha, gives you more of a chance for hole outs , hole in ones etc. Good luck getting number 4 soon
