Cobra Wedge Thoughts? Grind explanation?

I'm demoing a set of Forged Tec irons right now with C taper lites and so far these seem amazing and might be in the bag soon. The new and last few cobra wedge offerings seem nice also.

I would be looking for a set either a 50/56 set up, which I currently play, or a 50/56/60 type set up:

50* - Full shots, 3/4 shots, pitches around green (looks like Versatile Grind is only option with 8* bounce) I currently use a PING SS grind and it has 12* bounce. I like the PING for chips but not in love with full shots.

56* - Bunker club and full to 3/4 shots, flop shots. Right now I use my ES grind by PING and I might just keep this club in the lineup. But open to suggestions (Comes in Versatile Grind 10* bounce, Widelow 7* or Classic 12*)

60* - No full shots really, mainly flop shots and green side chips (Versatile Grind *8, Widelow 4* or Classic 11*)

Any thoughts on the grinds and which lofts pair them up with? Any experiences or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I play the 50 Forged Tour GW, 56 KING (WideLow) and 60 KING Pur (WideLow).

For me, my favorite and longest-standing wedge was a Cleveland 588 RTG 60* that had very low bounce. The KING 60* WideLow is the best approximation of that club I've found, hence me going with that grind. I played around with the Versatile KING 56 a bit, but decided to go with the WideLow for that as well, as for almost 20 years I've been a low-bounce wedge player and am just more comfortable with how it sets up and interacts with the ground.

I use both KING wedges for full shots as well as the 56 for mid-long bunker shots and I use the 60 for nearly all of my sub-75 yard pitches/chips.

Thanks for reply. How does the widelow do when opening up the face? Is it meant to be played mostly square face or can you open it up to get more bounce while keeping edge down?

I love hitting the 60 with the face open and often do, lol (I tend to play aggressively and end up short-sided relatively often) - sets up very nicely for slipping under the ball. Other than bunker shots, I really don't open the 56 though, so I can't speak to the club's performance in that regard.

I used to obsess over grinds, not so much anymore. I have 3 Cobra wedges, 50, 52 bent to 54, and a 58. All versatile grind. I have no problem hitting any shot I need. For awhile I was using a Vokey K grind, but that had too much bounce. Then I used a low bounce K and it was a solid option but it really didn't work well out of firmer lies in the bunker. The low bounce K is popular on tour but their sand conditions are much better and more consistent than what I deal with week to week.

The 52 bent to 54 gives me a little more bounce, and less offset so it flights lower on full and partial swings and is excellent out of fluffy sand. The 58 is decent out of all but the worst bare bunker lies and is a terrific all around option greenside.

In my opinion bounce is a more important consideration than grind and I would go with a little more on you're sand wedge and a little less on you're lob, but I still find myself using more bounce on my lob than most.
