Bridgestone Tour B X

Anyone gaming these? Experience and observations? What ball did you come from?

Switched from Srixon xv’s. 17’s. Didn’t care for the 19’s. Which is one of the reasons I wanted to start looking at other options. They’re basically what I was hoping the 19 xv’s would be. They feel explosive off the driver. Seem to hold their line as well as anything I’ve played. Scoring iron flight seems a bit lower. The right amount of spin I want around the green. Nicer feel with the putter. Great wind ball. So far it seems to be a good upgrade.

I have just started playing the BX & BXS, but played the B330 & B330S for the last five years or so & they were the best wind balls I've ever played..

Love this ball. Feels soft than its compression. As long or longer than anything and great spin inside of 50yards.

The dual dimple seems to keep the wind off it, and its is by far the straightest ball off the tee with its level of short game/iron spin.

Beats the ProV1 and V1x by a lot for my game!

seems like the BX is creeping up on the BXS as far as popularity.

I came from the b330 (no letter). I'm very happy with it... it outperforms everything I've tried, and is very stable in a breeze. It doesn't accentuate; it does what you'd expect. Often, that's what keeps you in bounds on those misses, and that's really key.

i'm a believer -- switched from the 2018 TP5x.

Bought a sleeve of the BX recently after that ball test. The ball is very long of the driver and good distance with irons while having playable spin that is not too much. Green side spin is good and predictable. I like the feel off the putter. I'm going to buy a dozen and stop thinking about golf balls hopefully for a long while. My 1st 18 with the BX I shot a 73 from the tips, coincidence? maybe, but my driver was LONG, irons had a nice flight, my balls were not affected by wind much at all, and my short game was on fire hitting chips and pitches with a nice check to them. Also I have shot some other amazing rounds with previous Bridgestone balls (RX and B330 series). I think I'm just going to be a Bridestone guy for a while.

I just tested this last night against a 2019 TP5. I had been playing chromesoft and Wilson duo U and lethal, project a....a mishmash of balls.....even the BXs I tried. But last night I finally hit a ball that made a big difference. To keep this story very short, I gained 7 yards over ANY ball ive played before....I know its not a lot, but I will tell you when hitting the driver, the Tour BX felt like it exploded off the club face....I use a titleist 910 D3 and I have never felt another ball jump like this one.....I hit a drive 295 last night and typically I am a 275 hitter and 285 when I really hit it right....last night I came close to my 1st 300 yard drive. I average 290 last night when I typically average 280-285 when I'm on. it just felt different. Gave me extreme confidence on the tee....something I haven't had in quite some time.

the only "negative" was on the short irons 8-w.....I expected the ball to jump off the club face but it didn't. I came up a little short on a few holes and when chipping onto the green, it didn't jump either.....all I can say is the harder you hit this ball, the better it performs. its an "honest" ball so whatever you put into it is what you get out of it...I had to adjust a little around the greens but it was fine after I got used to it up close.

The back 9 I used a new TP5 and while it was good, it wasn't the Tour BX off the tee.....mid irons, short irons and putting the TP5 was pretty darn good. I liked it a lot but off the tee it was all BX!......if someone could mash these two balls together, it would be the perfect ball.....maybe that's a prov1 x or something....who knows, but if you love hitting the driver....go get some Tour BX balls....it was nothing short of awesome off the tee.....it might become my gamer for the rest of the year.

Interesting. You described one of my favorite things about this ball. It’s not jumpy off my scoring irons or putter. It’s the last thing I want.

i agree with you also about not always wanting the heat off scoring irons and wedges. i play the bxs, if you give it a little pitch it will roll where you intended if not a little further, if you strike it to the flag it will stay put. i like that option vs having to roll it up every time, even though that is my more comfortable shot from let’s say 20 yards and in. it is nice to be able to stick one close and have it stay when really needing to get up and down after a bad tee shot or errant 2nd even though it is out of my comfort zone being that close and swinging hard.

I find certain balls a little more difficult to control ( flight, touch shots) than others. The XV's and the Tour BX both do what I want them to do in those situations. The TM's and Pro v's give me trouble at times. But what I don't like about them might be exactly what others are looking for.

If anything, the BX seems a little longer with all clubs for me so far. But I think that has more to do with the flight.

I'm also finding the BX to be incredibly durable. I hit a drive yesterday that landed in the middle of a cart path and then bounced on it several more times. This was on our 15 hole and had been playing that same ball all round. I hit a tree earlier. Played the last 3 holes with it and this is all I could find on it after the round.

I'm a big fan of these. Played the Nike tour black before this, and the BX is very similar, but better.. The other ball I play is 2018 TP5X, and I prefer the BX for sure.

Dont have much more to add to this. Spot on

Terrific ball. Long with enough spin to stick to greens. Reminds me a lot of my XV's. My only issue is with Bridgestone themselves. I think they do a terrible job of letting golfers know which ball is made for them.

ordered 4 dozen of these in the last month. Loving them.

Bag now only has Pro V1 X or BX, tried so many balls these year and happy to use either.

This is my issue, I never know what I should play with their fitting system or way of classifying things.

For the last two years i have consistently played the Pro V1 or the Tour B XS. I have been giving the tour b x a try the past couple of rounds and I am impressed. It is longer off the tee, a little longer off the irons (leading to more GIR), and still has control around the greens.

I like the BX ball, and the BXS. I don't notice too much difference between the performance of the two. Mainly the S is a bit softer feeling. I would think they would have a new ball coming out soon. These have been around for a couple years now right?

just bought 2 more dozen BX...i have plenty already but, i had some DSG reward bucks and figured why not.

Their classification is pretty silly. It didn't really make much sense for swing speed and makes even less sense trying to use handicap since their 4 balls are all basically the same price. But if you think about it like this it becomes easier. The balls from most spin to least spin XS, X, RX, RXS. The XS and X are pretty interchangeable. I'd pick on feel unless you absolutely need to take a few RPM's off your driver. Unless you're a high spin player throughout the bag, I'm not sure the RX really will suit many people at all. It's going to feel almost exactly like the XS but the spin is lower across the board. The RXS is for the person who likes the feel of a Chromesoft of Duo U and doesn't mind giving up spin and ball speed.

I made mention of that issue at my favorite golf shop and the lady at the register nodded her head and said a lot of golfers have no idea which Bridgestone is designed for them. She even pulled out a laminated flyer from Bridgestone and it was no help either.

Just tested the Tour BX and Tour BXS. Came from Chrome Soft, then Snell Red last year.

Started with the BX, thought it was excellent all around, no outstanding weakness. Wedge and short iron approach shots had consistent rollout, maybe hit and roll 6"-1'. My first time playing them I was amazed at how straight my shots were (holding their line).

Then I tried the BXS to compare. Really hard for me to choose a winner. Similar characteristics. Seemed to have a bit more spin into greens on short and mid irons. Both felt firm/soft - not clicky, not marshmallow.

Unfortunately, I then tried the Snell MTB-X and enjoyed the characteristics of that ball even more than the Bridgestones. MTB-X was longer, more spin into greens. Putting, while feeling a bit more clicky...I find myself getting the ball to the hole more consistently.

Honestly, I would be happy with any of these balls.

What is your swing speed 7-iron and Driver and typical shot shape?

Dunno 7 iron

Driver = 95-98 mph

typical shot shape is straight + or -

Very timely thread. It's so hard to compare golf balls. Sometimes all balls feel and play the same for me and sometimes they are so different. Usually, I just chalk that up to my own inconsistencies. People raved about the Project (A) and Duo non-urethane. I don't like either one. XV is supposed to be for faster swings than mine but I like the XV. Been playing some older Tour Preferred I bought off eBay. But found a BX last week and played two rounds with it. Wow. It's great. But I don't understand what makes it great.

My take is forget about above or below 105 MPH swingspeed; if you like a firm ball with less spin, try BX. If you like a firm ball with a little more spin, try BXS. If you like a softer ball with less spin, try BRX. If you like a softer ball with a little more spin, try BRXS. My swingspeed is mid 90s & I play the BX, it performs fine with swingspeeds under 105.
