Hi. Can some tell me if the stiff flex Ping standard fit shaft has been drastically altered between the 400 and 410 models? Got a 17 G400 and 22 G410 (adjusted to 21 and flat lie) and the difference in flight and distance is collosal...as in the 17 is easily knocked down and yet I can get it to fly high at will. The G410 shaft feels much softer, is harder to time and produces a high spinning flight that goes as far as my six iron.

Just went through a fitting for the G410 hybrid and was hoping to save some money by going with the G400 but I needed the 22 turned down to 20.5 to fill my gap best so I went with the G410 with the stock stiff CB70 shaft.

I hit both the G400/G410 quite a bit side-by-side and if there was a difference in the shaft I certainly didn't notice it. Both clubs at 22 degrees performed nearly identical or at least let me say that I couldn't hit either consistent enough to discern a difference. If the 22 deg was what I needed, I likely would have gone with the G400.

I will add that we went to the flat setting at one point and I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn in the flat setting. On these clubs the difference between standard lie and flat seems dramatic.

Thanks HD. Been on the range this afternoon and despite the best efforts the 21 degree G410 still stalled badly into the wind. Different shaft or club needed.

Small thread hi jack. Does anyone know the shaft tip size for the G400 hybrid? I want to go up in weight a little bit.

Appears to be .370". No Guarantee since Ping is doing plenty of funny things these days.
