No Laying Up episode 217: The life and career of Ben Hogan (43 min).
I was hesitant to listen fearing content would be mostly excerpts from books and web mining.
Two well spoken Hogan Foundation officers, who were also friends of Mr Hogan's, were interviewed and deliver Hogan anecdotes I'd never heard.

I'm a regular listener of NLU, my favorite recent episode might be the one with SVP. I think they generally have a good variety of guests. I have also really been enjoying the Erik Anders Lang Podcast. I find he tends to have guests outside of the pro golf realm, and also mixes a golf with a good bit of other topics.

    Chasing scratch is great.

Otherwise I listen to comedy podcasts... all fantasy everything, punch up the jam and Doug loves movies.

during weekday afternoon rounds I will listen to the podcast of the Lebatard show.....probably the best sports radio show out at the moment - a good mix of sports and other non political topics and plenty of comedy. Tim Kurkjian and Stan Van Gundy are recurring weekly interviews and are probably the best interviews for their respective sports. Stan VG on basketball is simply fantastic.

No Laying UP, Episode 218 with Scott Stallings was really good. Among other topics, Stalling's was candid about his bogus banned substance suspension.
I don't remember who the NLU host is but I must say he does a nice job.

I don't know if they are pod-casted, but as a fellow NPR listener, Car Talk is one of the GREATEST radio shows ever made. That show (when it was on) made me late for work every Saturday morning.

i got through 4 or 5 episodes but couldn't do it any more. half the show is just them reiterating shot by shot their previous round. they started at what, 11 or 12 handicap and wanted to get to scratch in a year? thats not a goal...thats a pipe dream.

Ya I can see that, but they're still going this year and are down to 3's and 4's, so whatever they are doing is a recipe for success. Personally I love the dramatic scorecard readings. I may be the only person that's willing to listen to someone recall their round shot by shot (as long as they make it interesting).

listening to someone recall their round shot by shot to me is less interesting than a person telling me who's on their fantasy football team. ha

surprised to hear they are a 3 and 4. they are putting the work in apparently.

Effectively Wild. Baseball podcast - definitely a modern/sabermetric bent, but tends to discuss the game more generally than simply recapping the latest news/playoff races/etc. Great community around the podcast as well.
