Awesome shaft availability. However from what I remember the pro white hybrid (no upcharge) through titleist is a made for.

818 titleist users also confirmed it doesn’t play like the real deal version.

Keep it mind or ask titleist!

Yeah, the Pro White didn't play as I had hoped when I got it. It's not made for but it's not the TX flex when you get X flex in it. TM offers the same one in the GAPR.

I ended up buying a Tensei Pro Blue hybrid from Titleist and when it came I had the same concern that it was an "X" not "TX" flex. I reached out to my Titleist rep and got the following response.
I spoke with Don who is the director of shaft development to get more elaboration on the shaft. Here's what he had to say.

The picture on the Mitsubishi website with the blue K in the CK was an early prototype version that Mitsubishi decided not to use and we will bring it to their attention so they can put up the current one, secondly, there are only "Pro" versions of the Tensei Hybrids and they are the shafts we offer stock in 818H. The same shafts we offer are played on tour in good numbers, with Tensei Pro becoming the #9 most played hybrids on tour May through July. The reason Mitsubishi chose to call them "Pro" models is because they used the long section of carbon/Kevlar weave in the butt section that goes under the grip like the "Pro" wood shafts. The "standard" Tensei woods use a short piece of weave that ends well before the grip and is covered with black paint and lastly,
The Tensei hybrids do not use the Boron or 40 ton fiber found in the "Pro" woods for good performance reasons. It is because the larger .370" tip diameter of the hybrid would become too stiff and torque get too low. So Boron and 40 ton fiber was not needed or wanted for best performance, tour or consumers. Unfortunately, there was a reference to Boron in the description of the Pro White hybrid on Mitsubishi's website. We will bring that to their attention as well.

Long reply to say it’s not the same shaft. And most of their tour users are playing the tx models. If you’re looking for the specific ck pro white then purchase the shaft separately. The one coming from titleist is an imposter and has mediocre reviews.

I've never owned a driving iron but lately I certainly have more confidence in 4 iron than hybrid club. Can't wait to try out U500 and U510

I just scheduled a hybrid/fairway fitting at a big fitting center/retailer and asked about the TS hybrids. They stated they will be available for fitting August 8th and pre-order sales August 30th.

    2.2 offset 2-4 in the u500!
Just for that streamlined look and low offset, I'm locked for a 3-iron at the very least. Wonder what shaft I'll throw in this one...

Hit the 510U and the 2 iron is immediately replacing my 18 degree hybrid when it comes out. Hot off the face. Feels great, better then my 818 hybrid. Distance was about equal but the driving iron was much more consistent

  • SUPERGSUPERG Members Posts: 138 ✭✭✭

U510 has be interested!! My hybrid bails me out of a lot of spots, but would love to have a DI in my bag for certain courses. Hearing the tensei stuff they offer is not as stout as the real deal kinda sucks. More reason to go with ATMOS or an aldila offering.

I'm assuming/hoping the SureFit for these is the same as the 818's. Would love to be able to just swap my KBS Tour Hybrid Prototype from my H1 into the TS2 and take it for a test spin!

I have the 816s in 17 and 19 degree and I’ll be curious how the new hybrids are. I don’t know why we have to wait until August though. Why couldn’t think come out earlier in the year like March so folks could use it through the golf season, of course depending on where people live in the US.

Hit the 510 4, what a great club, will replace my c16 4 iron. TS2 17 hybrid much more forgiving than my 818 h2, didn’t expect that, really easy to hit and used my shaft

Im interested in the TS2 over the TS3 just because of the offset and why not have the extra forgiveness. I have the 818H2 now so we’ll see if it dethrones it. Going to use my Atmos shaft in it

Those utility irons look sweet but they definitely remind me of the p790s

  • AG12AG12 Members Posts: 1,166 ✭✭✭✭✭✭

I'm stoked to test out the hybrids. I'm already leaning towards the TS2 just because my bag is slowly morphing into a more forgiving one. The stock shafts I'm also interested in, I like the profile of the HZRDUS Smoke Black as backups in my driver and 3W but wonder if the profile will fit in the hybrid. The EvenFlow white looks like a winner, seems to fit the similar profile as the Atmos Tour Spec HB that I have in my 818H2 now. Hope you guys get to test as well would love to hear your thoughts on it

I'm thinking u500 3 iron with Evenflow White 100g X. Sounds like its a standard custom order option at 100 grams.

I’m not seeing the Evenflow White as a shaft option for the U500 on the site I order from.

  • pugsnotdrugspugsnotdrugs Members Posts: 7 ✭✭

I hit both today and struggled with the u500, but I was bombing the u510! It was awesome I loved the metallic sound when I made good contact! I’m definitely going to pick up one or two!

  • jlin1222jlin1222 Members Posts: 48 ✭✭

@pugsnotdrugs did you previously play a driving iron or hybrid? I don’t have any shops where I live to test out much equipment, being a lefty makes it even harder. Initially was thinking U500 all the way.
