Anyone else starting to feel the stress of all this garbage rain? It’s miserable, I live in Cleveland on Lake Erie and it feels like freaking Scotland! I bet Scotland is better! Vent thread...BB

I just checked we’ve had 19 inches of rain on the Eastside of Cleveland this year. To put that into perspective, that’s 190 inches, or 15ft 10 inches of snow. Nuts 🥜

I had 21" before the end of March. I haven't even gotten the data for April or May yet. When it rains, it pours here.

You could send it here. The South East of the UK hasn't had decent rain all year. After last summer we could do with a good deluge about now :-/
It's not yet drought conditions but it's not good to miss out on spring rainfall.

In Tenn we have been going through this for some time. Last year it destroyed the local golf courses.

I live in NKy and work just east of downtown Cincinnati. It’s been nothing but rain and cart path only pretty much every weekend pretty much everywhere.

I'm right down the road from you in Akron BB, and we've had it only slightly better. Washed out yesterday, but kind of knew it was coming so freed up some time Saturday and played 36. I can usually only play weekends, and it seems like we'll get 3-4 decent days through the week, then at least one of the weekend days we get more rain. Our course doesn't have many holes with cart paths, and they are starting to get so desperate for play that they are starting to let carts out when they really shouldn't. We're all just hoping the course doesn't get torn up too badly right now from this that it impacts us for the rest of the summer.

Last two weekends in Cinci have been good enough to get out and play without a soggy mess. Something like 19 weekends in a row of rain somewhere in the Tri-State area, including winter from 2018 is what I heard. That's a lot. I think we're done with the worst of it now.

GoodPark. I ranger there and play every weekend they're open. Only holes with proper cart paths the entire length of the holes are 11 and 12. 12 is a short par 4, and they've moved the men's tees up to the lady's a few times this year and played as a par 3 to keep people from veering off the path.

I haven't been to Chippewa since early April, and it was horrible that day, but they had carts out. The greens were great though, and I went through "the Triangle" even par for the first time ever and ended up shooting 74 or 75 from the Whites, by far my best ever out there!

Cleveland does not rock, it sucks. Yall dont get to see the sun much at all so why should you expect it not to rain.
Here in SE Ohio, the rain hasnt been too bad this spring compared to last year. Its only been CPO right after a rain the last few weeks. And even then that was a bit extreme for the regulars as we know where the wet spots are and the course was fairly dry except for the low spots.

I gotta come up to Mansfield next month to play in a Kiwanis event so get the blowers and mowers going up there!

We can do that. Honestly, it’s all private up here not many good muni’s around sadly. Little Mountain was always fun but the course is a shell of it’s orgional self these days. Greyhawk in LaGrange is fun and tough, they worked hard to bring it back to life, fast greens. I always end up playing down your way. I enjoy Seven Hills, nice country course they take excellent care of it. Shale Creek is usually in good shape, it’s a fun more modern layout. I hear good things about Valley of the Eagles in Elyria but I haven’t visited there yet.

I was just in the Warren, OH area last weekend for a trip to Avalon Lakes. On Friday when we arrived the course was cart path only and the range was closed due to rain. Saturday morning was fine but in the evening the sky looked like the apocalypse was coming - thunder, lightning, hail, torrential downpour. Our Sunday morning round got canceled due to the rain on Saturday night, just sucked it cut our trip short and wasn't enjoyable as it should've been due to all the rain.

Saturday night was bad and that area sits low so the rain we are having is making it rough. I've only played one round locally this year that didn't have at least one hole that was CPO.

I live in (central) Ohio too, and it's been the same for us. We've been able to play each week in our league, but several areas of the course have been taped off due to the mushy conditions, and it's been difficult out of the roughs this year, seems like it's been hard to mow as normal as well. It must be tough to be a part of the grounds crew, or a course superintendent in conditions like we are having, just trying to keep up with it all when the rain does stop and it starts to dry out...occasionally.
