And more rare yet, regular flexed shafts, or at least a lower CPM rating.

The guy moves the ball, he's no slouch in the swing speed department, but for some reason those must feel fantastic for him and his tempo. Get in where you fit in...

I have a list of 3 that I am going to possibly game and Elevate Tours are high on that list.

I really liked the Dynalight Golds and Dynamic Gold lights but they don't make them anymore. I like about a 112 gram cut shaft weight in my irons so I moved on to KBS Tours.

I have noticed that too. It seems to be less than 100 or 130+ these days. Granted, I have always liked a heavier shaft and play the X1 and S4, so there's no complaints from me. I found the KBS shafts to be too soft in the tip for me and found them bending in the hosel. Not that, that really has anything to do with this thread.

They have placed a lot of their eggs in the basket of the AMT's as well with the variable weights through the shaft. Since the introduction of the AMT's the mid-weight shafts seem to have all but disappeared.

Elevate Tour and DG 115 & 120 are all "mid weight". Not to mention Project X and Project X LZ.

You might like the Titleist/Nippon 105T shafts which are right around 112 grams. I knew a club pro who played them in X; I started in Stiff, then went to R around the time I turned 60.

Those aren't his shafts. Description says he plays S300. Picture has both.

Seriously though, he's not really a normal human. Swings it pretty fast, gets 116 clubhead speed. I think I saw 172 ball speed from him. Not sure.

I predict in about 2 years, someone will remember this thread and write a post and say “Cantlay used to play XP 95 r300 in his irons”. 2 years after that, it will be “Cantlay used to play uniflex shafts in his irons”. And 6 years from now, it will be remembered as “Fred Couples used to play a 3 wood with a ladies flex shaft”.

Well, at least the part about Cantlay being human will be correct.

They're good...may not be a fit for you (but they may be!), but they are good shafts. Personally, I like them better than the 95's. I can feel the head better, which makes no sense, but to each his own!

Another shaft that didn't get it's just rewards is the Dynalite Gold X100 Sensicores. Those shafts feel amazing to me! They just work. Think I'mma troll eBay now...

Doesn’t cantlay have a terrible back and need 3 hours of PT just to be able to swing a club ? I’m sure that plays into the shaft choice.

As a trumpet player, I always chose to play the equipment that made it easiest to get the desired result. Golf is no different. We should all choose equipment that makes it easiest for us to get the desired result.

I guess that's why I own 8 sets of irons, 14 drivers, 17 wedges, and 157 putters. And 1046 mouthpieces!
