Thoughts on Wolff turning pro?

Low level? I actually think he will fair pretty well and at least make cuts. His game is pretty complete and has the long ball. It will probably be a while before he seriously contends for a win though.

I think what he meant is that hmmore than likely he will have to go to Web.com Q school and work his way up to the PGA Tour. Don’t think it was about his talent being low level. I think he will do very well but the great thing about golf is you have to earn a tour card.

Possibly, but a guy like Wolff will get more exemptions into tour events than the normal guy to accumulate enough money to earn his card 'the easy way'. lol If not, then like you said its off to the web.

I'm curious what type of endorsements he has thus far besides TM.

He’d have to finish top 125 in FedEx points in only 7 events. Hardly the easy way. There is a max number of exemptions you can receive

The max is 8 sponsors exemptions and I think he's already used one or two.

There's definitely something more important that I should be doing.

Max is 7. But any top 10’s will get him an additional start. It’s a very difficult path but it’s been done.

Exactly. He could get injured and then nobody will draft him.

Walter: Tell me Bobby, why do you play this game?
Bobby: I play because I love it.
Walter: Well I play for the money. I have to win. That is why every time we face each other I will always beat you.

I'd take that in a heart beat.

Anyone know what endorsement deals look like for these new kids on tour? I heard commentators talking about Hovland yesterday saying that with his new endorsements, money won't be an issue for a long while and all he needs to do is perform. Are we talking maybe $250K signing bonus and then $500K a year + bonus for winning?

Top 10 and he gets in the next week without burning an exemption.

It’s not necessarily the next event.

Any invitational. Wouldn’t get you into Bayhill, RBC, memorial and a good number of other events

Hard to say what anyone’s endorsements but in Hovland’s case maybe he is getting extra money to endorse products in Norway.
