Original Q Star Tour vs Version 2- version 2 better?

I've been playing QST since about the time it came out. Still have some of the original, but this week I decided to break open one of the QST 2 stash I had from an earlier BOGO.

QST 2 is only supposed to be about 3 points lower in compression, but it felt great from the get-go and softer, more responsive even on putts. Driver seems straighter and a touch longer (but easier to put in the fairway), a touch more distance maybe on other clubs. But mostly it just feels good and responsive at my bare 80 mph, forceful transition. I ordered 6 doz more on another BOGO from golfballs.com.

It may be placebo, but I'm certainly not opposed to that if it works.

Anyone else ?

I've played both and didn't notice any marked difference.

Now, the Project (a), on the other hand, was night and day from v1 to v2. The QST though has been a solid ball through both versions.

I believe most thing the QST 2 is a better version. Only played the two and love it for the price. Plus, the recent two fer deal was incredible.

They have 6 dozen less in stock. They arrived today and are in a box in my den with my other hoard.

I did the same thing. I got the 2019 version. 2 yellow, 2 white.

Does the GG BOGO deal typically happen more than once a season? I'm interested and missed out by a couple of days on the last one.

I happened to have a new QST in my bag while playing a scramble Monday. Put it into play and, man, is that ball long off the tee. I hit a couple drives that we couldn't see come down, but they were in the fairway. "Oh sure...I always drive the ball like that..." haha. I still say this ball is the best bang-for-the-buck. With my game I may just switch to it exclusively for a while. I'm a 15 now (improving, the problem is between my ears...) not a $40+/dozen class of player...

I have been playing the Z Stars which are a great ball. I bought them on the BOGO promotion but will definitely look at the Q Star2 ball when I run down my stash. Hard to savew a few bucks and get good performance from a extremely good golf ball.

Typically just once per season, around father's day/US Open, and it's pretty much all retailers, including directly from Srixon. They also had 6-ball "trial packs" on sale in January/February for $10 each, although I'm not sure if this is an every year thing, or only when the new versions come out every two years.

This has been the ball I have been using for the past 2 years. I think its the best ball for the money. I cant see the top of the line balls doing anything more for me.
