eBay Purchase: Legit Putter, Fake Headcover ... What to do?

I recently purchased a putter on eBay that included a red 2015 Jackpot Johnny headcover. The headcover is actually pretty impressive from a quality standpoint with no glaring issues, but I have my doubts that it's fake due to a few of the circle sizes and locations being slightly off. I have a couple old Scotty headcovers that I've compared to, but both are 15+ years old, so I'm not sure how good of a comparison that really is. Like I said, it's actually really good quality, but I'm 99% sure it's fake, so let's assume it's fake. (For the record, I don't collect Scotty items, but I collect other things that are frequently counterfeited, so I'm keen on what to look for usually).

I primarily made the purchase for the putter, but I felt it didn't hurt that it came with a pretty sweet headcover which added to the value and pushed me over the edge to purchase. I'm happy enough with the putter, but with a fake headcover, I'm trying to figure out what I can or should do. What would you do? Ask for a few bucks back from the seller directly? Make a case with eBay? Accept the situation for what it is and move on?

2. Decide what it is you actually want, and just move forward from there. Do you want the putter? Do you want to return it? Do you want to pay less you did? Do you want to get in an eBay brawl? It's up to you my friend.

1) Confirm it is a fake

2) Send seller a message to inform them the HC is fake. Say that you can either open a case for a counterfeit item, full refund and return the putter, and they have that on their record, or you'd be happy to accept a partial refund for $XXXX and call it a day. 90% of reasonable people will go for the latter.

3) If they decline the partial refund but you want to keep the putter, you could try opening a PayPal case for item not as described and request a partial refund through the dispute process. You paid $X for 2 items: the putter and the HC. You value the putter at Y and the HC at Z, and are requesting Z back as you are satisfied with Y.

OK, I think we're all on the same page. I was a little disappointed, but not a big deal in the end. I wasn't really looking for confrontation, but just wanted so see what your opinions were.

I second the attempt for a partial refund. Even if you don't get it, you should at least let the seller know the headcover is likely fake.

Post pictures of the cover so you can confirm it is fake. If you're not willing to do this, going back to the seller for money on an assumption is kinda bush league.

I'm not going back and asking for money. I'm sorry for the bush league question.

Why would you accept a fake item as part of a “package” that you paid for?

That's why I asked. I'll post pics of the headcover tonight, just to be certain. I was pretty sick yesterday (still am), so didn't get around to posting pics.

Connected stitching in the first picture is a dead giveaway from my understanding.

I'd be asking for a partial refund since it's fake.

Yup. Super fake, file for a partial refund either through direct communication or through PayPal.
