Jason gore getting paid to hear complaints

USGA hired him as “director of player relations”. Gonna be a tough weekend for him!

I always liked Jason Gore. Followed him after the 2005 U.S. Open when he and Goosen blew up in the final pairing. I wish he'd been able to keep his card.

Gore was hired for this USGA job in March 2019. I'm sure he has already heard many complaints from tour players.

Cant hurt to have an accomplished guy who has been inside the ropes, played in majors and competed for years in there listening to guys.

I can't see this being a bad thing. Even if a bunch of board member idiots ignore 90 percent maybe a few good ideas sneak through.

Unless they pick an absolutely silly pin position, I don't see how they mess this week up. The course is perfect.

Perfect person for the job. Jason will be like, "hey dude, STFU, let's go have a beer, you whiny little beeotch" LOL.


I think Gore lasts eighteen months. By the finish of the 2020 Open, he’ll be sick of both player complaints and bosses who nod their heads a lot but never actually act. He’ll issue a nice resignation letter where he thanks everyone for the opportunity and says he’s looking to spend more time preparing for the senior tour.

Winners complain too. Spieth did just two days ago when discussing his win.

Jason Gore was hired because of his history and proven experience. He'll do a good job and contact those players that have a realistic perspective, and listen.

does he get to wear a red shirt ?

Did he complain before the tournament that year? Or during the tournament?

Wonder what he charges. Might have to do a contract and have Mrs. Pelz do all her complaining to him.

If there isn't a bunch of complaining, it won't be a US Open.

Its possible that he'll help at least a few players to understand why some things are the way they are. As a one-time player, he'll have credibility that some long-time USGA officials might not have, and not every player is convinced that the USGA is wrong every single time.

Yes. There's a classic clip of it they showed just yesterday. I would think after you are holding the trophy and bringing up short comings would be more impressive than in the heat of the moment. He did both.

To be honest, that applies to 95% of all jobs...

I haven't seen anything to complain about, so far, this year.

Jason was primarily involved in quite a bit of course set up for this US Open, but please keep on being a ray of sunshine.
