I have been watching these videos as well. Very interesting information!!! I wish they had a fitting center near me in the U.S.

Fitting lie by face impact?

One thing I find interesting is their take on ideal spin. Everyone says 7000 for a 7-iron, but they point out that much spin isn't usually required to hold a green for 90+% of greens. They aim for # - 1000 for spin. So 7- iron should be 6000. I have often wondered the same thing.

Because you are on golfwrx you are seeking a better outcome?.Resale value on obscure brands in very small.Once you have done a Ping fitting there are your lie and length specs. Transfer these to you favourite ping G or I or S series irons and or jpx/mp/ap2 preferred combo and at your swingweight your grips and result will be pretty good with high resale

Well yeah but this isn't revolutionary. They're not pioneers. Pxg and miura both have (had? Started with?) this exact business model.

I think you could even get away with less. Descent angle equal or greater than 45 degrees? Peak height equal to or greater than your swing speed with the iron? Launch angle over 16 degrees? Doing that and getting any sort of spin equal/greater than about 4800-5000 is more than enough for most golf courses us mortals are going to play. If we are playing Chambers Bay for the U.S. Open then sure the iron x1000 rule is ideal but most of us are never even coming close to a fraction of that firmness and speed.

I can confidently say I hit all of these marks with irons and I cannot for the life of me remember hitting a good shot and having it do more than 2-hop and stop. This is coming from courses like a local goat track all the way up to Hamilton Golf and CC (where they played the Canadian Open last week) in the middle of July during a heat wave. Each of these and everything in between was similar 2-hoppers and hold.

YES, lie angles should be judged by FACE impact, with or without labels.

Im not able to see the video here, so im not sure how this company does it, but going by face impact is the way it should be done to make it right (the ball marker test) , lie boards is no good for that, its been up and explained so many times it should be common knowledge among the regular readers and users of the forum.

The sad thing is that "Everyone says it" because of the Trackman published Tour average numbers. They are just statistical averages of a very specialized group of golfers and were never meant to be thought of any any kind of ideal or optimal target numbers - not even for the pros. Unfortunately, that they are continues to be a very common misconception.

Depends where you play. Trackman tour data says 7000 for 7 iron but these boys are playing in climates and sea levels that work for that. I live in north west england if I hit that spin it's going to balloon, I'd love to see the trackman data for British open

I tried to buy an Orka Reflex hybrid.

that was a big no go. The Orka guy, Craig maybe? Got me in touch with someone in Florida but they were about as responsive as a dead mollusk.

wish I could but I can’t. I get the idea behind getting fitted. But seems like they might be leaving money on the table.
