UV sleeves?

Recommended Posts

I wear Nike Dri fit sleeves. I’ve worn them in all sorts of weather and found them not to be too hot. The top of the sleeves are pretty snug, almost too snug. Wearing them all day leaves a decent mark around my arm.

Nikes. Fit tight, keep you cool, and keep you from having schweaty arms. Even the black in the middle of the summer is cool.

Didn’t even know FJ made solar sleeves. Hmm, just saw some on YouTube. May need and try and find those.

Nike ones are great. I also have several UA UV long sleeve shirts, they are awesome, nice and fitted sleeves, with a touch more room in the body, have white and grey, wear them to play most every weekend

I've tried a few of the cheaper options on Amazon, but this year I splurged on a couple pair of the Nike ones. The Nike sleeves are easily the best of the bunch. They feel much cooler and lighter and stay on my arms. I don't even really notice them, which is probably the best compliment you can give a pair of solar sleeves.

I've used the "Eclipse" brand ones off Amazon for the past 6-8 years. Various sizes/colors available and they seem to hold up pretty well to be worn and machine washed (then air dried) maybe 150 or so times. I usually but two pairs at a time so each gets worn once or twice a week for eight months out the year. After a couple years I buy two more pairs. I think they were $27/pair last time I stocked up.

I use the Spartan-X sleeves available on Amazon ([https://amazon.com/gp/product/B073Z6R41F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073Z6R41F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 "https://amazon.com/gp/product/B073Z6R41F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1")). They're $16 for four pairs, and work just fine.

Sparms. They make a shawl one piece so they don't fall down. They are actually cooler in summer than wearing none.

You will hate skin cancer way worse than wearing sunscreen.

I have seen several LPGA ladies wearing these. Was going to buy some FJ ones as I’m curious with limited feedback on them, but may try these instead.

Been wearing SParms for a two months now and they are great! Construction is solid, fit is good and they stay on my arms without slipping. And when there is any breeze blowing or if you are riding in a cart they do feel a degree or two cooler. But when you are walking in 98 degree heat with 98% humidity, a real feel of 110 and not even the slightest gust of wind they are tough. Honestly though in those conditions everything is hot!

I've worn the Nike sleeves and several inexpensive pairs off of Amazon and I'm definitely sold on the Nike sleeves. Nike offers several different sizes to get a better fit. But, more important, when I wear the Nike sleeves, I would pour water on them when I get to the water jugs on the course. The water would soak through the sleeves and cool my arms. When I pour the water over any of the Amazon sleeves, the water drips off like if you poured it on a rain jacket.

It's true, but I fall into the typical category of "it won't happen to me", which is nonsense, of course, and I know it. Lousy brain...

Thanks to everybody for your input. Do any of the Nike crowd have sizing information, even if it's just their own anecdotal size for reference? The charts I'm finding online for dri fit are all related to shirts and I'm a bit remote so I won't have an opportunity to visit a brick-and-mortar store for a while. I think I'm a small, but not sure.

Elbow crease to wrist crease: 10.5"

Elbow crease to deltoid: 6.5"

Biceps circumference: 14"

Thanks again.

Yes, I do that in the super hot weather with the nikes. The original reason I got them was for swearing. I had tried wrist bands to keep sweat off my right hand. It worked but thought the sleeves would serve multiple purposes. It did.

Ended up ordering the FJ ones because it was one size fits all (which I feel has to be weird) but have seen no reviews complaining about fit. They also seem to be made out of different material than most. We shall see. Hope they are just as cool feeling. I’m on vacation and don’t have a way to measure for others.
