Anybody know of any killer deals for a "low end" stiff/extra stiff driver?

Looking to buy one for a gift, doesn't have to be a name brand club, just want it to be new.

Your best bet is probably Golfworks or Hireko. I've bought from golf steals and deals before and got some wicked deals but that was shafts only I'm not sure how they would be for driver heads. You might get lucky at a local liquidator warehouse but the chances of finding an X there are likely going to be slim.

How about eBay? If you were getting me a driver as a gift, I’d rather have a really good condition used high end driver over a new low end driver. Something to think about.

I’m not in that market but would it not be a struggle to find a new R11? The point being that the OP said he wanted something new.

R11? That's an 8 year old crap driver. OP wants new. That bonded RBZ the other guy posted from golfdealsandsteals.com is worth a try. Depends on your budget, OP. The Tommy Armour one I posted for $50 will get a newbie by for a bit too. Driver is the hardest club to hit, no need breaking the bank until someone really gets into the game and commits to playing enough/ getting better.

my point was buy something used in good shape that is at least tour proven. not some walmart special. the r11 is irrelevant I should have said "insert used 5 year old driver of your choice" rather than saying r11

Dude he's giving it as a gift. He wants it to be new. That's his perogative.

And the RBZ posted is not junk. It's just as good or better than an R11 or similar clubs.

The Tommy Armour Atomic can be had for $200. Yes, it's DSG's house brand, but the reviews are good and it's closer to the tier of drivers from the big OEMs, in terms of performance and build quality, than it is to any other house brand or Walmart level driver out there.

I would say check out a golf galaxy nearby and see what older models they might have new. Especially if it’s a brand they do not carry anymore. I remember getting a srixon z745 for $50 a couple years back for my buddy. He still loves it and says it’s hard to look at an upgrade given the dollar to performance aspect and driver is his best club
