Bandon Dunes Solstice 2020

Yes, I know it's early, but good planning starts early.

On our annual Ryder Cup weekend one of my buddies who turns 40 next year was talking about doing the Solstice. I filled out the reservation inquiry form today asking about the 2020 Solstice and got an email back saying that I am in the lottery. Draw will start in mid-December according to the email.

So, if you're thinking about it, get your email in!

Just finished the 2019 Solstice. It's a brutal test of wills but fun nonetheless. From what everyone said you basically have to be on the phone right at the start and wait on hold for about an hour.

Side note: it's a bucket list item but not sure I need to do it more than once.

CMU Golf, did you go with anyone else or go by yourself and get matched up with someone else? I have a few more questions too if you dont mind, can you PM me. This is something that I really want to do but dont really have anyone that I play with that is going to be willing to walk 5 rounds of golf in a day. Thanks for the help!

I did the solstice event last year with my father-in-law and it was amazing. We definitely want to go back next year. For anyone that has done it multiple years, what's the process like for signing up again. I have been told that you are in, until you choose not to go. Also, I have a couple buddies that "want" to go, are we allowed to add to our group if they didn't go the first year. I say "want" because everyone talks big till it's time to belly up and put money down. Lastly, do you think the Sheep Ranch will come into play for things this year?

When I contacted them earlier they said they are running a lottery in December that you have to sign up for. I don't know if previous participants are grandfathered in.

I think it would be good if they could include the Sheep Ranch going forward but I haven't seen/heard anything official yet.

Have any of you heard anything more about the event for 2020 yet?

Where do you sign up? I called reservations and they say that I am on the list but I never received a confirmation email. They said I would receive an email but I haven't.

Also, they had 120 participants last year. 4 courses could hold at least 300 golfers. Doesn't everyone get the invite? Does it sell out?

I sent an email to the info email and they replied saying that I was in the lottery.

It has sold out for the last several years. They limit the numbers to make sure everyone can finish in time.

So, it ended up not being a lottery, but an online registration free for all.

Even though I was primed and ready before registration opened I must have been slow on the keyboard and ended up on the waitlist. Registration was full in like two minutes.

I got in. Was fast on the trigger. When I hit the first page, it said there were only 14 - 2 man spots left. I cannot really be sure since I was moving so fast.

I feel very lucky and am really looking forward to this event.
