BST Member/Scammer to Avoid: El Shanker

Starting my own thread here instead of piggybacking on the other one on this page. El Shanker is someone who should be avoided at all costs on the BST. He continuously has "emergencies," postal mixups, and reasons he can't ship in a timely manner, respond to people, etc. Search his name and threads, and then please see below for my recap on our transaction. Save yourself the headache.

Recap:

**June 8th**

- I PM'd him about purchasing the Bushnell Pro XE and the Ping G410 22* head. I sent a payment of $525 the same day. He replied saying he'd refund the money for the Bushnell, I assumed someone beat me to it. He never sent the refund, so when I inquired he offered me a Bushnell Jolt instead for $275. I thanked him but refused the offer, again asking for the $400 refund. Then he told me the other party never paid and the Pro XE was mine if I wanted. I said cool, send it.

**June 9th**

- El Shanker told me he had a work emergency and couldn't ship, but would the next day. Again, I said cool and thanked him for the update. I did a little bit of digging and ran into other threads/issues for him on the BST and was slightly worried I'd be getting the run around.

**June 10th**

- El Shanker shipped my stuff and sent me tracking. Yay.

**June 15th**

- My package arrived. It was a tiny bubble sleeve, so at first I had no idea what it was - opened it and it was the Ping G410 hybrid head and that's all. I PM'd El Shanker immediately letting him know I didn't not receive the Bushnell Pro XE and asking for the $400 refund, as now I'd be moving on. El Shanker logged in a couple of hours after my PM, and again the next day, no response, and still no refund.

I wish they would bring back the ratings from the BST. Also, from now on, I will do digging into a person's username before striking a deal, that's my bad. It takes 1 minute to send a refund, and he should have known he didn't send the rangefinder to me over a week ago. I have all of his contact information, including his address, workplace, etc. I will be using them if necessary. For now, I have submitted a dispute via Paypal, but have to wait until 7/7/19 to escalate it. I will post any updates here.

This sucks, I hope you have no problem getting your money back.

These sort of posts are starting to become more frequent than they should be lately. Are those guys out there with questionable characters and flexible morals starting to see this as an opportunity? Maybe it’s guys who were lazy previously, but the threat of public outing via feedback motivated them just enough to do the right thing?

I’m slowly starting to think the BST needs shut down, until it’s a safe place to conduct business with a useable feedback system to quickly identify problems to other members. I know it’s dead to me, personally, until some changes take place.

Sad to say I am in the same boat, from the same BST post. I paid ElShanker on Friday morning. It's now Tuesday afternoon, I've had only one message. Said he would ship on Monday.

Never had a problem on WRX before, I hate this.

It does suck, I've never had a single problem before this.

I'll probably avoid it until they figure out some viable feedback system again.

BST is turning into SHT

TokeyB’’s tracking was put into PayPal. No reason for him to have an issue.

My assistant shipped the Rangfinder elsewhere on accident.

Also, I am not here as the website suggests since it is logged in on my phone. If I bring up a webpage, it’s shows as activity. I have been out of pocket for the last 48 hours. I don’t live on here.

Also, don’t threaten or do anything stupid. If I was trying to steal anyone’s money, I wouldn’t put my real name and address on items.

I wasn’t threatening you, but was and am making it crystal clear that I will pursue this as far as I need to. Please refund the $400 if the rangefinder wasn’t shipped to me. Should be quick and easy.

And maybe consider not having your assistant always shipping your packages if they can’t be trusted to do it correctly. That’s on you, this has been your excuse multiple times.

Blah blah. There’s been a few people whose money has been out of their pockets because of you. Just fix all of your (errr your “assistant’s”) messes and stop with the nonsense.

Hopefully you’ll be banned but if not and someone is stupid enough to deal with you ship them the right stuff and do it in a timely fashion. Or I mean have your assistant do that.

This guy’s got more BS than a cow farm.

Be careful guys, don’t “do something”.......or else

Log into PayPal, find transaction, click on "Refund This Payment," have some integrity.

If only there was a way to see and let others know about a members transaction history...

ahh yes the ole _blame it on the assistant_ excuse.

I would never trust someone with the word “shank” in their user name. I avoid the shank at all costs.

Tokeyb. Sorry to hear about this. Your story is identical to mine. The "craft" Mr EL Shanker used is the same. I should have sent out an alert earlier....

His last message to me was "I will go through insurance claim with USPS and we can go from there" I told him I am joining the PGA tour next month and need the 2 heads soon. Please hurry as I cannot tee off without them....

PGA tour huh? I figured most guys on tour get that stuff off tour vans or directly from reps, not GolfWRX BST.

^He's being facetious, making up lies/excuses to counter Shanker's ineptitude. Hope you get your money back, Kendrick, tokey, and Chocolate! Shanker should be banned.

lol i haven't read it in a while. reading it now and i'm still laughing at it. i knew he was his brother from the get-go but waited for him to oust himself. hilarious.

Wanted to update: El Shanker sent me the refund. That's the end of my updates. Hope everyone else gets satisfaction. Bring back the feedback system, please.

It's almost like WRX doesn't care about the users anymore. Everyone's been complaining about the BST for a while and they haven't done anything to get the feedback up and running yet, and doesn't seem to be as much mod interaction when things go sideways on these deals. Seems like since the OEM's give them enough advertising, etc they don't seem as responsive on member issues.

Are you sure it wasn’t his assistant? Wanna give credit where it’s due.

Its instances like these that make me more and more just pay the extra few bucks to buy retail and be done with it. And if I have extra clubs to trade in or sell, I simply do it at the local golf shop where I wont get cash, but I'll be treated very fairly with store credit.

chocolate_rehab: all El Shanker did was use the $400 you sent him for the Bushnell as a backup plan while he tried to sell it elsewhere for more money. He finally refunded you because you outed him...if you hadn't, you still wouldnt have your money yet. This type of stuff is getting worse by the day on ebay too: guys listing an item, have it not sell for what they perceive its worth, and then cancel the transaction while they either re-list the item or sell it somewhere else for more money while leaving the person who honestly bought the item hanging...usually after they sent money. And then the person who sent the money is forced to file a PayPal dispute to get it back.

This is what our world has turned into: scam artists. Its just a matter of how much they are allowed to get away with before being called on it.
