Bent shaft tips

Bought from a seller, he told me the shafts were in good condition, I trusted him without asking for pictures since I’ve never had any problems buying from members from here and plus it wasn’t too expensive. Welll I received the shafts, grip tapes were basically melted on the shafts, proceed to take off the furules and half of them were bent. Since then no communication from seller after a couple of messages, I could have use that money to buy new grips or or golf shirts or something useful, now I only have unusable shafts.

Did you pay with PayPal via goods and services? If so file a claim. If not then you’re likely beat.

Well I received them approximately about 2 months ago and just couldn’t find the time to get around to them, they’re been laying on my table, just recently get to work on them that’s when I found out they’re bent. I’m pretty sure I used good and services but it’s not even about the money, being honest about your products you’re selling goes a long way. I’ve sold irons that were unknown to me that they were 1/4 inch short, buyer wanted partial refunds, I explained I did not know they were a bit short, buyers got refunds, in the end buyer was happy.

Well then maybe like you he didn’t know there were issues. And letting 2 months pass then getting a message he may be thinking you’re up to something.

You didn’t know yours were 1/4 inch short and since you didn’t notice until you started working on them maybe he wasn’t aware they were bent either.

This seems to fall in a bleep happens category. But you can certainly invite him into this and get his side.

Always request images of the item you're buying. You can still file a PP dispute even after 2 months.

Really sucks that that happened, I had a similar story from ebay once and ended up with a partial refund. Then went to the OEM and explained what happened and they sent me a full set of brand new shafts. I was not expecting that at all but it was a very nice surprise.

With 2 months passing between discovery and when you got them I'm not sure you have a ton of options for recourse with the seller. I know if it happened to me I would be very suspect of the situation with that much time passing.

I guess at this point I would chalk it up to a lesson learned, but I would also try contacting the OEM just in case there is anything they can do. And on the off chance they were KBS C-Tapers it's a known issue and they have been pretty good in the past with replacing bent tip shafts.

Some shafts are prone to bending at the tips, and that's not exactly known to everybody. It's unfortunate that the seller isn't willing to reply to you though.

Lesson learn I guess, next time I’ll asked for photos no matter the price lol

You can still file a dispute for 180 days after purchase. You can also go to the manufacturer, especially if they're KBS, and possibly get some resolution. Those are both very reasonable options.

To play devils advocate, how does the seller know you didn't play the iron shafts for 2 months and bend the tips yourself? Always a good idea to fully inspect all purchases as soon as you receive them, that way there's no question as to who caused the damage.

Good point swgolf12, but honestly I just couldn’t find the time to mess with them, like I’ve mentioned beforehand, grip tapes was basically melted onto the shafts, I tried peeling them off but they came out little pieces at a time, so I just left them knowing they need a lot of prep before I can even installed them into my p770 heads, maybe he just didn’t realized that the tips were bent, Anyway he could of take a minute out of his time to at least reply to me as he is active on here. All in all lesson learned.
