Is this a fake Scotty Cameron?

New here. Purchased a studio style Newport two & worried it might be counterfeit. Please check out pictures & give me some opinions. The spacing on the sole seems off but milling seems perfect to me. Seller has a return policy limited to 72 hours (24 remaining). Thank you everyone

This. Can’t help feeling that’s extremely poor craftsmanship, or a blind man did the milling. Looks awful for a premium object.

Wait a minute, is the paint gone from around what is supposed to be an insert? If memory serves me right, the white is supposed to be an elostometer of some kind resembling silicone, so if the paint is gone and it shows metal, that is not an insert thus not a legit Cameron,,,, plus the cover does not look legit,,,

The white is still there, definitely not paint either. However, have read somewhere that counterfeiters have put bathroom caulk in there, feels exactly the same. Still the white ring is near perfect IMO. The dots on the sole worries me primarily.

Here are few picts from one of my putters. Granted, it's a different model but it's from the same series.

the fakes have smaller dots and thinner "CAMERON" font in the cavity. the OP's is real. these two are fake with one of them being sold on ebay right now.

I think it's legit

Yeah, the dots on the bottom are so far off that I'd be concerned, too.

That, and isn't the tell-tale sign of fake head covers being able to see threads of the letters' (in "Cameron," not "Titleist") stitching going from the end of one letter to the next? I can see that in this head cover. (Or has that been debunked, and I missed it?)

Looks legit to me. Also no expert but the work is too nice/clean

the one in the OP is 100% real. the others i posted are fake. don't mind the different head shape but here's a comparison. OP real vs fake...

One tell tale sign is the insert is a shade of a different color and the milling usually isn’t identical. If you look at katoom post, you can see what I’m taking about. His insert is real, and it’s slightly darker, and an actual insert. Yours looks like it’s all the same steel and just etched out. Stick a magnet up to it to see if it’s real ss. If it sticks hard, it’s not real.

Take some acetone or finger nail polish remover to the white ring around the insert. If it comes off and there’s just a groove it’s fake. If it’s real elastomer/caulk that’s a positive sign.

Overall it looks pretty good. The dots of the sole are way off. Huge red flag. But maybe this just slipped past quality control?

Yeah, the QC part is the part that has me stumped. I guess anything can happen but one would think that QC at the Cameron manufacturing facility would be pretty high!
