Grips?

What grips do you play? Do you prefer all the same grips in your bag (except putter), or do you have different ones for different club types?

Lamkin Full Cord on everything but the Irons because I don't find it economically feasable to drop $150 on regripping irons that are three years old. They have those red and black Tour Velvets that Titliest was using on demo clubs a few years ago. Super Stroke Mid Slim 2.0 on the flat-stick.

If I were a true WRXer I would install a regripping station in the middle of the living room in my apartment. (Smiles and stuff)

Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360's on all my clubs except my driver i have a Winn mid-size grip cause i love the feel of it and hit my driver better with the Winn. My putter i have the SuperStroke pistol GT 1.0 w/ counter core weighting

My relatively new favorite is the Lamkin Comfort Plus (midsize). But some clubs still have UTx's or REL Ace's on them. To me the main thing that's important is that the size matches on all the clubs in the set, not the exact texture.

Sorry, you got me curious - just have to ask - where are you that it costs that much to regrip a set of irons? Maybe I'm just lucky, but even if I didn't do it my self, there's no where around here where it would cost more than about $80-$90 to have that done.

You know you don't need a regripping station to start doing your own grip? The minimum it really takes is the tape and solvent and a hook knife to cut off the old grip/tape. A vice is nice - but hardly required.

Have had Lamkin full cord standard with +2 wraps on all clubs for 2 years now. Switching to Pure DTX Midsized now.

PURE wrap on everything but putter, which is round leather by Best Grips.

Pure pro grips and Bettinardi leather grip for putter.

Grip master kangaroo leather. Easy on the hands, last forever, and promote light grip pressure with the tack.

@Stuart_G if you love the rel you will fall head over heels with the pure pro.

Lamkin UTx on the irons/wedges, tour velvet on the the Driver/3 wd (because they're dirt cheap and I swap shafts A LOT), and SS Mid Slim 2.0 on the putter.

I don't know what I'll do when I can't find the UTx anymore? Luckily I'm stocked up for a few sets, and have them stored in a Ziploc bag in my temp controlled basement. My current set is going on 3 seasons, and with a good cleaning still have all the tack as original and aren't getting brittle at all.

Thanks. But I actually like the Comfort Plus much better than the REL. Softer, better shock absorption, and less of a taper.

Tour Velvets, couple extra wraps under right hand.

BestGrips Augusta microperf leather slip on grips on all my clubs except putter. I add two strips of tape (first is duct tape, second is double sided tape). These are tacky and grip better with moisture present. These are, pardon the pun, the best grips I have ever used on my clubs.

I prefer midsize grips. I request proper thickness for stock grip with new club, but order "grips in the box" to ensure the gripping is done right.

When I regrip, I normally move to my standard, which has become PURE midsize DTX. Wedges with PURE get two extra wraps under low (right) hand.

That said, I'm experimenting with Golf Pride CP2 Wrap in my wedges; I like a slightly thicker lower hand. If it works out on wedges, will regrip CB Pro irons with same. If not, I'll regrip irons and wedges with PURE midsize DTX. (CB Pros now have Tour Velvet standard, but they're too pencilly thin even though I requested removal and build-up to midsize.)

Stock grips on my long clubs are getting worn, so I will replace with either PURE or CP2 this summer.

SuperStroke Cross Comfort Midsize for me. Perfect for me. Cheap, hold up, and can take my sweaty hands.

Grip master midsize Kidds on my irons and wedges, Gripmaster on the putter and then midsize UTX on my woods.
