Ball Recomendation for low spin player

Quick background is that when I got fitted into my clubs one of the things we were doing was trying to get the spin up on my irons. I am very much a sweeper so I guess that was part of the issue. I played a tournament this past weekend where the greens were pretty new and were a little challenging to hold for everyone but definitely a concern for me more than most. I would guess my swing speed is around 110 with the driver, prob carry 265-275 with really well struck drivers and currently around a 1HCP FWIW. I lost distance changing irons (maybe half a club) to get the spin up even though I went from a x100 shaft to a 950gh. Loving the results though and seeing much more consistent shots now.

I have never really questioned my ball because I was advised to essentially stay away from any “X” balls and I liked the look of truvis so I tried them out, shot well, and then got a couple bulk orders over the last couple years on killer deals. I would have just got more now I am getting down to my last dozen or so but they are the 2016 model which I cannot find for anything like the deal I got before (like $25 a dozen). So, for the first time in a long time I am questioning what I should actually be playing or at least trying out. I am not really a tinkler so I like to find something and stick with it but do want to find what’s right.

I do know from own experience I lose a lot of distance on the driver with the CS (for me) but I dont care much about the distance so much as control. My reference point is a dog leg par 4 on my home course which is about 280 to front of green most days if you cut the hole. With a well struck drive I could reach green with some different balls but without wind help I cannot with a CS. Also, my shag bag is full of prov’s (mix of normal and x’s) and I do notice that I get more check around the green with the Titleist also. So it has got me thinking that I may be in a ball that actually isn’t working that well for me at all. Oddly enough I actually dont like the feel of softer balls either when putting, chipping so there may be no advantage for me using them compared to others besides the deal I got.

I did just order a test dozen of the snell’s (MTB and MTBx) as I have heard good things and it will be the first ball I have played a round with in probably a couple years other than the CS. So I am just wondering what any of you guys who are not exactly too worried about distance but are low spin players on your irons are using with success. I am not overly worried about the price as I dont tend to lose too many balls but would obviously rather save a few $ if it makes sense while not hindering my game a bit. Open to any suggestions for what balls I should be looking at trying out. There is so much information out there it is overwhelming so I really appreciate any direct advise here.

I feel like the cut blue are given credit for adding spin... I have the opposite problem, so that’s the best I can do.

Srixon Z-Star is the "spinniest" tour ball I've played. Have two dozen lying around I'm not going to use. PM if interested.

I'm spin challenged as well.Tour B XS, ProV1x for me. Testing Z Star XV and they spin more off the irons than I thought they would. ProV1x and XV launch higher and XS has the most green side spin.

If you can find any of the Nike One Platinum, buy them. Hands down the highest spin modern ball. I recall spinning back mid and long irons

Like another poster suggested...Kirkland Signature 3-piece. They spin A LOT. However, they are slightly lower launching as well, and not nearly as soft as a ball like the Chrome Soft. At their price point though, if all you need is more spin it'd be a shame not to give them a try.

I have the same issue--low spin in general. I went through quite a few sleeves of balls while testing. For me, the Srixon z-star gave me the best combo of long/mid iron spin, green side spin, and stable low-ish spin off the driver. Other balls seemed like they were great off the driver but not enough long/short iron spin, or vice-versa, IMO. Also, almost all the urethane cover balls I tried were pretty good around the greens. But for my game, I'm willing to give up a couple yards of super low-spinning driver shots for more control on the long/mid iron approaches.
