15% distance for an Ace?

Buddy of mine just got his first ace. Congrats to him. This had sparked a conversation between our group. I would like to hear from those who aren't apart of the ever elusterous club of Aces...would you trade 15% of your distance forever for an ace? That's the number I'd be willing to give up, what would you give up?

I have one but no chance I'd give up even 5%

Sure, when I was younger and could drive a long way..... no problem.

But right now every 10 yards means a lot, because I can't hit the long irons well these days. And I never had a 5 iron that can fly 200-230 .

I have one, but it was 11 years ago, about the 3rd year after I started playing golf. I've hit at least a thousand better shots since then that didn't go in the hole. I've never understood why people go so crazy over an ace. I'd trade my ace for 1% distance forever, or $20 cash, whatever is fine. 15% is a lot, but I guess you could just move up a tee or two...

I left the no-ace club recently as well and I say nope to loosing distance unless there was a paycheck involved enabling me to buy a hunting ranch and retire.

Ace is only one hole. If I gave up my distance for my ace at 15% distance loss I would of had to of hit a 3 iron/5w to of made it happen.

I bet more guys would be willing to never get an ace in exchange for 15% more distance.

Though while I do not have an ace, I DO have a double eagle. Of course it happened on an uphill hole where I didn't get to see it go in. When we got up to the green, I thought it'd run through and into the woods behind. Wasn't till the 5 minute search was over that I checked the cup completely as a joke.

I wouldn't give up any distance in trade for an ace. It's slighty annoying to me that I don't have an ace with the number of rounds of golf I have played but that's about it.

No way. An ace would be nice but I’m not and so t be losing sleep if I never get one.

Recently got my first ace and while it is awesome, the moment fades quickly (not discounting it at all, it is an amazing feeling).

That being said, there is no way in hell it is worth having an average drive go from 270yards to 230 yards and having an average pitching wedge go from 135yards to 115yards. The ace is one hole, one moment, one day...15% loss of yardage forever, that is just silly.

Have two and wouldn't have ever traded 15% of my distance just for a hole in one. They were fun to get that day, and I guess I checked that box (twice, lol), but honestly good shots but still lucky shots and just never bugged me I didn't have any and gave it little thought over the 40 years I played without one. Would gladly give them back to witness my oldest daughter and my dad getting holes in one - had I never gotten any, either of those experiences would have been plenty for me.

I have one and since I have one kinda hard for me to say if I would give up any distance. Kinda probably no. But on further review.....

I have five aces. I'll trade them all back for an EXTRA 15% distance each. Right now figure about 250 average-maybe a bit more but 250 is fine. Times 15% 5 times brings me to averaging 502.8 off the tee.

I wouldn't give up 1yd. I got my first ace this winter after many many many many rounds.

It was a mediocre swing with a good result - what's that 'worth'? Nothing.

No. I will eventually get an Ace but no way am I giving up 40+ yards off the tee.

I have one of each and did not see either one go in, they were 27 years apart

I'd agree with this. I was also thinking for giving up 15% distance, the ace would need to be recurring once a round.

Given how rare holes in one are and that they are only eagles why would anyone give anything up permanently in exchange? It makes no sense.

No way, I'm already short!

An ace is something that would be nice to have, but isn't really high on my list of golf goals. I would not be willing to make the game more difficult in exchange for having an ace.

I have 6 aces, so no........yea right......closest I ever came was 6" and while it would have been great, its just one hole. everyone I know has had one (or so they say) so its almost more unique to say "I never had one".....I need my distance, so no, I wouldn't do it

Just say no! Seriously though, absolutely, 100%, no way, would I willing trade 15% of my distance for an ace, or really, another one. Now with that said, I definitely agree with @BM5D in that I would trade never getting another one for 15% more distance.

I've played this long without one... no chance I'd trade any positive attribute for it.

I wouldn't give up anything for an ace. Alternatively, I would take an extra 15% distance and give up any chance of making an ace.

Can I give both of my aces back and gain 30%? I'd be down for that.
