Very interested to see how this course presents on TV. Played there a couple weeks ago and it's very flat, but I bet it will look better on TV. Classic old country club, need to keep it be low the hole.

Going Thursday with my 12-yr old son. Pretty excited to finally have a tournament back in Michigan. I used to go to the Buick every year at Warwick. Never been to Detroit CC. It will be a big deal for my son. He still thinks I hit it pretty good. Wait til he sees these guys in person. I’m guessing they go pretty low this week.

I can't wait to see Fowler pitching no PMI, no or small downpayment mortgage products.

DGC is a wonderful golf course to play. No tricked up holes. It's the anti Pete Dye kind of course. A parkland layout that is right in front of you... no blind tee shots, no hidden hazards, no man made science projects. Greens can be difficult if you get on the wrong side of the hole but it's a very fair test of golf for the average amateur... like most of us. I'd expect to see some guys go low and the winning score will be close to -20. I would think that the players will love the place because it's always in impeccable condition and it's just a fair test of golf, but probably not quite long enough for today's players.

Why is this a "Classic"?

I was there today. Interesting how they created the layout. This course is very getable, so we should see some low scores.

They had a "celebrity" 3 hole touney today that involved Kid Rock, Paige Spiranac, Blair O'neil, Tom Izzo, Jerome Bettis, and some Red Wings players. Kid Rock was a dick to everyone. Paige and Blair loved the attention and were great with the fans. Paige looks better in person, Blair on the other hand...not so much.

Looking at the field - middling at best, I think would be the way to describe it, it's a real eye opener that Bill Haas is only an alternate. I think everyone is aware that he hasn't been the player that he was but being an alternate for this field given the heights that he reached seems crazy.

I am seeing this mistake made often enough (not much at GolfWRX, but elsewhere) that I think a cautionary note is in order lest somebody punch the wrong golf club into their GPS...

The Rocket Mortgage event is being played at "Detroit Golf Club." The 36-hole twin Donald Ross design. Located in the city of Detroit, near the intersection of Woodward and 7 Mile.

The "Country Club of Detroit" is another great classic-era golf course; a very fine Colt/Allision design which has hosted two US Amateurs including the one that Arnold Palmer won and which changed Arnold's life forever. It is located east of the city of Detroit, in Grosse Pointe Farms. It's about 35 minutes between the two clubs.

Great career for her, from Big break "I want to get on the LPGA tour", to hawking Cobra products half naked. Use what you got as I say, but makes me wonder why everyone gets up in arms over what Haney said.

Rickie needs a big week here to get back in the top 10 in world rankings. Would be surprised if he doesnt have a good week

I’ll be working the practice facility on Friday and Sunday, spectating on Saturday. Was out there this past Saturday, it looks great!

I think it's great that the PGA Tour and Quicken Loans are throwing a bone to the long-suffering Detroit area. I lived there 40 years ago and used to visit every year after I left. I saw continuous, non-stop economic degradation every year. It was brutal. The course will play 7,3XX yards, but seems quite easy (and flat) with the longest par 4 only 460 yards. The field is pretty good too. Should be an interesting show. Looking forward to it.

I can tell you the local golf community is very excited for this. It's a great track but they will certainly be going low. I hope we (the fans) show up and make it a permanent stop.

C'mon guys! Two majors in the same month? Maybe you were hoping The Open Championship was this week.

To be honest this course looks like a low end California CC with a massive club house. Hoping for it to be a great tournament though.

There should be a bunch on twitter of them since they were in the celebrity shootout and the pro am today. Paige is incredible.

The field is very weak and I can't believe Bill didn't get in, but Smylie did. So many there that we had no clue who they were.

Yet, only Hovland is listed in the directory of players on the PGA Tour main site.
