In my opinion, it looks like the trimmed down the entire club including the sole and made it a smaller package. In fact, between the Apex CF and Apex Pro they look similar except the Pro had a thinner top line. I started the year with the Apex CF19 then went to the Combo set and now am playing the Apex Pros 4-PW (Yes, 3 sets of Apex's since March. I have a problem). The feel between the Pro is so much better and I preferred the slimmer top line and sole of the Apex Pro. Since I didn't see a huge difference in forgiveness between the CF19 and Pro 10 I went with the Pro 4-PW because the feel was that much better in the pro.

I should add, I have always struck the ball better with clubs that have a thin sole. When I have tried clubs that have a larger sole I dig ditches. Last year I played the Callaway MB all year. And while I loved the feel and played pretty good, I am getting about 10 more yards overall with the Pros which is why I switched.

I am just the opposite and prefer a thicker top and sole. So, based on what you have seen and other reviews, the CF16s may be for me. Cally Preowned has like-new 4-AW sets for $549 right now.

To revive this thread, are there still people happier with the CF16s over the CF19s? I was fit into the CF19 yesterday but am really not playing enough to justify a brand new set of irons. Considering I can get the CF16s for half the price, if I'm getting 90+% of the value I may go that route. Def think the 19s look better though.

My biggest complaint about the CF16 irons was the random bomb. I saw this during a fitting when the CF16 irons first came out. Even the fitter was pointing out the lack of consistency and said they were not a good fit for me. I tried out the CF19 irons and the yardages were much more consistent so I ordered a set, we will see.

I've had the CF16 combo set since they first came out, love them! I tried them besides the AP1 and AP2, some Mizuno offering (can't recall which...). To me the Apex look and felt the best, they all performed similarly for me. I test drove the CF19 this spring, they weren't different enough to justify the price. I rarely switch equipment unless there is a major issue, so the CF19 had a very high bar to meet.

Side note - either I am very good or very bad, but in all the rounds with my CF16 I've yet to experience the mythical rocket bomb shot.
