Yellow balls

I never use a white ball anymore. I especially like the lime green balls like the type that Vice makes.

For me, I've had too many people on a tight course hit my golf ball by accident (or sometimes just pick it right up on purpose), but I've just grown to like the colored ones better. Also easier to point out and identify your own ball.

Same here. I switched to yellow/green about 4 years ago cuz I could spot them easier in the bushes or wherever. When you pipe one and it's climbing up in the deep blue sky it just looks great to my eye.

I hadn't bought a box of ProV1 in ages but I picked one up recently in yellow of course! Take just one with me before a round.

I can't even play white anymore.

on a sunny day - great contrast against the skies. will go again on a cloudy dawn.

I started playing yellow the day after I watched a young girl and her dad pick up my ball when I sprayed a drive on an adjacent fairway. I incurred a two stroke penalty for a lost ball in a tournament when she wouldnt fess up and I couldnt do a thing about it. Now I play defense and try to pick golf balls and colors that not many players use.

I'm glad there are some premium yellow options now. I love that you can get a ton of different color golf balls. I'm happy that they stick out in the air and look different next to 2-3 other balls around the green.

When I mark it up with a red or blue sharpie I can see mine stick out like a sore thumb haha.

I wondered about all the yellow balls..Not like senior pros need to watch their ball like we do.

On a more serious note I’ve always liked yellow balls. Their more neon green to me but what do I know.

Easier to see in the air and in the rough, IMO.

To me that seems really ignorant.

Personally I've never tried the yellow option but I'm open to the idea especially if there is a definitive improvement in visibility.

I've tried them, no improvied visibility, but they are great in hiding in dry grass

Nope, but found all those darn yellow balls in the rough and in the trees where I hit them. ;-)

I can’t use easy to see balls. People will run down range 340 yards and steal them. It gets old. : )

Seriously, I have never used anything but white. Neon orange I would be willing to try as I have plenty for practice. Just never tried on the course. I think I’m past being a stickler on white though. So who knows what could happen one day?

Played with some buddies a week ago. I usually hit anything from PROV, TP5, or Tour B X. On our closing par 5 18th hole my buddy hands me a yellow Nitro from Walmart. I was like whatever I’ll try anything. To my chagrin that rock hard distance ball flew off the face with a nice long draw. Then a well hit 5 wood and I’m putting for eagle. Now I’m wondering if God is telling me to game a yellow distance ball?!?!

I’m fine with yellow or any of the pix/tru vis tech. I use whichever distinguishes my ball from whomever I’m playing with. I like not being part of the who’s on the green, who’s just off discussion.

I wouldn't recommend them. I remember many years ago when Nike (I think?) came out with black colored balls. One of the guys in our league was so pleased that he had some. Hit his first tee shot off into the right rough, very shady area under some trees. Couldn't find it and it was pretty apparent why this was not a good idea. He switched back to white ones after that.

My current league partner was playing the matte finish Volvik red ones, I have a real tough time picking up the flight when he hits and they are equally difficult to find in the long grass. They do stand out pretty well on the greens, though.

I use yellow ones with my name on them. Being yellow means even 100 yards away I can distinguish them from 95% of the other players on the course on any given day. Having my name on them eliminates any uncertainty in the other 5% of situations.

My only concern is that one day someone's going to playing a ball of mine that they found in the woods somewhere...and then they'll hit it somewhere on the hole I'm playing. I'll be so confused!!!

P.S. I probably ought to play the yellow Bridgestones. They have that huge block "B" on them. "B" stands for "Butte" stands for "North Butte" stands for Me. Save needing to personalize ;-)

Several years ago, I was like many here...Nope...will not play them. But, getting old makes us reconsider lots of things. I picked up a couple dozen yellow balls back during the winter and have played them. They are much easier to see for my 72+ year old eyes. I still have a lot of white balls left and will continue to play them just depending upon my mood and vision that day. But, if I need to purchase more balls, they will be yellow. Sucks getting old but the alternative is not worth a damn.

Now...the orange balls...count me out on them. Played with a guy the other day who was playing those and my eyes just cannot follow them or find them when they are on the ground.

I use orange Volvik S3s. They're a sort of creamy light orange color. Switched to them when I was having trouble with my eyesight a few years ago and wasn't yet used to playing in glasses. Even now that I play in glasses, I stick with them because the ball performs really well and it's very easy to see both in the sky and in the grass, especially on gray days and near twilight, when it almost glows in the flat light. I have definitely found plenty of balls that I'm sure would have been lost if they were white.

They're terrible in the fall when the leaves start to drop, however. A white ball or maybe a pink one or some other color is better for that.

I think colored balls are a bit hokey, but I'm not too concerned with what others think of my golf equipment anyhow. I also tend to forget to mark my ball when I'm not playing in a tournament, so it's nice to not worry about any confusion. It never gets played by accident, either. I would say I see more non-seniors playing them these days, so I think some of the stigma is beginning to fade.

Yellow Z Star is my favorite ball but I'll try anything. Found a BRIGHT red Callaway Supersoft recently and put it in play and loved it! Softest ball I have ever used and it went like stink. Had a chuckle thinking about the people here that claim soft balls don't fly far for 100+ mph swings like mine.
