Scotty Cameron Select Squareback 1.5

I am intrigued by this putter, anyone have any feedback.. Would be much appreciated.

I had it and thought it was too big. I really struggled with feel and speed. I sold it and got an Odyssey 2W which is also a wide body but about 15% smaller and has a plumbers neck. My speed and alignment is much better. I really wanted to like the 1.5 but in the end just couldn't adjust to it.

Bump. My local golf pro always recommends this as the ideal “blade mallet”. Anyone else liking / not liking theirs? The first time I tried it, it looked HUUUUGE. But, after trying subsequent times, the shock has started to fade a bit.

Rising a thread from death. Anime have any ideas on the squareback 1.5?

I’ve rolled it in my local store almost every time I go in and am convinced that if the demo had heavier weights I’d buy it on the spot. I love my spider x but something about the 1.5 that is a great putter

I have tried it and think it is a great putter for alignment and my stroke. The problem I have with it is distance. In my mind it is to soft and springy, if one could replace the insert or firm it up somehow I would play it without a doubt.

The 1.5 square back has been in the bag most of the year. It's a good combination of blade and small mallet with some toe hang. It fit my stroke from day one. Just sent it back to the spa for a little bling.

The 2014/2015 squareback has been my favorite putter for a long time. I've never been a fan of inserts, but picked up the regular 2018 squareback. It will all come down the ball you play, but I personally don't find the insert to be all that soft. I've wanted to pick up a 1.5 for the sole fact I love the look of slant neck putters. I prefer the single flange alignment. I will likely sell my 2018 for a 2014/2015 at some point. I just prefer the milled face.
