2019 Annual WRX Kansas City Outing

Just wanted to start a new thread for this year's potential outing rather than continuing to tack onto the 2017 thread. To be continued.

I'm certainly interested as well...more difficult now with 3 little ones, but I will go if the schedule works!

So just some general pieces to start the process.

1) The last two outings were at Shoal Creek. Are we interested in keeping it there or moving elsewhere?

2) I assume we're looking at a mid day tee time for those who have long drives to and from (looking at you MidMOGolfer).

3) Do you have a preference of Saturday versus Sunday?

I'm personally booked up for July between a kids birthday weekend and a golf tournament. Only definitive conflict I have in Aug is Sat. the 10th. Obviously I'm only one of many, but if we know there are certain days that don't work for people, it might help narrow it down.

I would be fine with Shoal again, but only made it to one of the outings there. August would work. The only dates I couldn't are 3-4 and 24-25. My drive is about hour and a half and could make mid morning work, but I am closer than midmogolfer.

1) I like Shoal Creek but open to playing another course.

2) Morning or afternoon works for me, I'm used to waking up early.

3) Any weekend works for me but I'm going to Kansas City 7/27 for a family get together, how does Sunday the 28th sound?

I can help getting us set up at Shoal Creek or Falcon Lakes as an alternative.

If the 28th works for most people do that, but I will not be able to make that day.

I _might_ be able to make the 28th, if not, middle to late August is all that works.

I can do other days, just throwing the 28th out there.

Whatever date works for everyone else is fine, I should be able to make it. As far as course goes...since I s*** the proverbial bed on the back nine last time at Shoal, I wouldn't mind trying to redeem myself there. Anywhere else is good too.

Curious if this was gaining any traction?

If you guys would like me to ask Shoal Creek and/or Falcon Lakes we'll need to get a couple date options first. My availability for Sept is non existent, but i may be able to do some weekends in late august.

Well, this pretty well fell on it's face again. Short of it getting delayed until later Sept/Oct., this Sunday was the only option that everyone that responded seemed to be available and they don't even have any tee times available online (guessing there's some even that they don't really have a calendar for). Otherwise you're only looking at 2-3 guys.

I’ve created an Instagram account to coordinate random meetups and share rounds via Instagram posts and DMs. Follow @rgckc and find new golf buddies at what i hope turns into a monthly or eventually a weekly thing, but weekday twilight nines #wtn at public munis. This is a great alternative to league type play, with Twelvesomes -- or whoever shows up, however many show up, like a fuggin' pick up game -- and walk nine at twilight.

The greatest version of the theoretical Random Golf Club, championed by Erik Lang, kinda becomes Regular Golf Club. I interpreted that to be like a pickup game of softball or basketball at public parks. Where else can you have pick-up golf than a public muni... Each month, then maybe each week, a designated tee time, late of course, where whoever shows, walks... in the same flight. Twenty-somes is my goal! And each week a different course in the area. Can't make it to Sykes on Wednesday, go to Teetering next Tuesday or HOA the following Monday evening. Have our own 'Rota’.

Every night of the week will have a course involved, so whatever free night you have, there’s a game somewhere...

These last few months of the season here has me scrambling, but I'd like to see at least three RGCs before the frost... again, that's the goal. And we can do it with your help, just spread the word on instagram, hashtag #wtn #rgckc #randomgolfclubkc, leave a comment for suggestions or other meetups, tag friends in the comments that love this kinda shit. I'll get to our friends on Twitter soon enough...
