Major with the most one-time "worst player to win a major" roster

I think the British and PGA are about tied.

British has Ben Curtis and Todd Hamilton, PGA has that Shaun micheel, rich beem borderline too. US open is very strong, really can't think of any "worst player to win one". But oddly enough it has a couple candidates for "worst to win two" like Andy north and Lee janzen. Masters up until a few years was fairly pristine in it's handing out of green jackets, until Danny willet took care of that. Gotta be awkward having him show up at the champions dinner every year.

Was just thinking we should have yet another thread about this. Who knew Danny Willett was such a bad player - of course, he wasn't, but worst player to win a major - how original. I'm sure he'd autograph his used napkin from the Champions Dinner and be happy to give it to you, lol.

One of these just needs to be pinned at the top of the board so we don’t get a new “worst player to win a major” thread every couple of days. Mentioning Ben Curtis and Lee Janzen on that thread should get a person banned from golf for life also.

Reviewing list of winners further I'm finding British is weakest. Guys like lawrie and calcecchia. PGA generally known as weakest of 4 seems to have better champion roster.

Threads like this are part of the reason I don't read the comment about how "golfers on wrx are more knowledgeable about golf than the general population" lately.

And btw the guy he lost to, Norman, is the biggest gag artist in major history. So how is it managed to give away all 3 other multiple times yet win two British?

Guys like Campbell had tons of talent but just kind of went into cruise control after winning. Geoff Ogilvy another phenomenal player who just kind of lost some desire after winning us open. Curtis and Hamilton, lol, that kind of "talent" can be found at most driving ranges.
