Monte's Drive 4 Dough

Recommended Posts

I picked up a few really good details that helped with driver/distance with D4D. Then again I'm not a long hitter. But there's some simple keys that I found that works for me to this day. What's cool is every time I watch any of his video's I pick up a new nugget or hear something explained in a different manner that resonates with my swing. For less than the price of a lesson I really think you will find it helpful.

I don’t think of them as similar at all. D4d is way way way longer than efficient swing.

It’s almost impossible for me to conceive that there wouldn’t be something for everyone in D4D, regardless of how many lessons they have had, how many other videos they own etc etc.

D4d is an insane bargain. Efficient swing is crazy good bargain, but just different presentation.

Is there a discount code?

1) D4D isn't just about driver as the title may imply, I find that many of the concepts/common errors Monte talks about along with the ideas for drills are helpful for the full swing in general.

2) I see Efficient Swing as more of a "Here's the correct way to do these fundamentals, and a few ways to work on the feeling/concept" vs D4D being more of a "Here are common issues with the swing, and here are ways to work on correcting them and getting back to "good" for that specific part of the swing".

Can anyone comment on if the two videos treat the driver and irons as different types of swings? I've been told and read/heard over and over that a swing doesn't change from driver to irons, and while I see a lot of similarities in good golf swings, even touring pro's look to have radically different swings comparing a high iron to a driver. In my mind, the longer driver shaft leads to standing much further from the ball and a much flatter/rounded out swing than a steeper/sharper swing.

I bought the Efficient Swing video this spring after never hitting solid irons my entire life. I completely revamped my iron swing from the ground up, and went from blades/thin/chunks/tops and having no clue where my ball was going to sticking greens, distance control, and drastically reducing my scores. In the process however, my driver has absolutely disappeared. I used to hit long straight bombs off the tee, and now I can barely get off the box. I guess some changes from the Efficient Swing have led to changes in my driver, and I'm wondering if there is a difference in concept between the two videos?

I believe the only intentional difference is that he advocates standing a bit further from the ball. Other differences in the swing are a result of how the ball is further forward and teed up.

I had an issue similar to yours and what I realized I was doing is playing the ball too far back in my stance and setting up with shaft lean instead of negative shaft lean.

I have noticed a new tendency to have a bit of forward lean on my setup too. I'll play with ball position a bit. I feel like I have the ball in the same position as I used to have it when I was hitting driver great, but my swing has definitely changed since then.

I think you just sold me on it. I love the efficient swing, but I wish there were trouble shooting along with it. You just answered my questions! D4D is next!
