Scotty Newport...your T&Ps appreciated

Found this on the FB Marketplace. Asking $180 which seems steep for the condition. Thinking of throwing an offer out of $100 just due to conditions.

Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Very nice condition other than it being stripped. I would happily pay that price if it were a putter I were interested in.

$100 is an insulting offer for that putter, if you ask me. If someone sells for $100, I’d take it and run. Personally, if I were in the market for one of these, $180 is a pretty decent price for this putter. It’s got good bones for a refinish.

I thought the bottom was a little rough. That’s why I threw up the $100. I didn’t make an offer. If it was beyond refinishing myself, I wasn’t going to even give it a second thought. The sole to me was in rough shape. Not the worse I’ve seen but rough.

Which is why I posed the question here.

It just looks like patina/ rust on the sole. Don’t really see any pitting, but the photo isn’t great.

I might even go as far as to say that 180 is on the low end of what that putter could get. It's a face stamp with an insanely clean insert and (what looks to be) no top line damage. I would pay $220+ for this and feel like I got a deal.

Remember, rust on an old carbon scotty doesn't mean "poor condition". The rust can be safely removed in a minute or two with minimal effort. It's the dings and dents that devalue these putters, and this TeI3 looks to be pretty darn clean. Great find.

Wow! That insert is extremely clean...you can even see some milling! Although old and uncared for (oiled) that putter looks like it's barely been used.

I'm with everyone else...$180 is a very aggessive and fair asking price. If you can get it for $100 then congratulations on a super score! $150 is a more realistic offer that the seller prolly won't hesitate to accept...and still a good deal.

Just wondering...do you plan to game it or have it refinished? Or both?

Just wanted something extra. Really was looking for something to refinish myself however after the comments I may just send it for refinish
