Ping Warranty question/experiences?

Recommended Posts

Have a G30 driver that has a hairline crack right on the hosel, dont have receipts or anything will they replace it?

Buddy had a callaway fusion driver that also had a hairline crack in the head, they replaced it no problem. He actually got upgraded to a rogue

Just wondering if anyone had any experiences with this or Ping

Start by calling Ping Customer Service 800-474-6434 and chat with them.

That said I've had Ping replace two Ping G30 LS heads in the past for the same issue, the process was pretty easy. Be sure you have the serial number handy off of the head when you call them. They might have you send the whole club with the shaft or maybe just the head itself. I don't think that they will replace it with a G30, perhaps a G or a G400. Each time they replacement mine, they had me send just the head back and shipped me a new head and head cover.

Report back here how you made out.

If you registered the item with Ping they will have a record. I had to send a sand wedge in for repairs that was over 10 years old. The repaired it no questions asked. Their customer service cannot be beat!

I had an Anser driver that I broke the shaft in a few years ago. I bought it 2nd hand, had no reciepts etc.

I called customer service, gave them the serial number on the head and they told me that it was too old and they wouldn't warranty the shaft (I forget if it was a 4 year cut off or a 5yr). My local pro shop was pretty surprised that they didn't warranty it.

In the end though, the best part was that it literally took 5 min. No being put on hold forever or transfered or leaving messages and waiting for calls back - nice and easy.

The G30 is too old and I'm hoping that they do nothing for you. Clearly you are looking to scam the system and it is less than above board.

Why cuz I'm smarter than the guy who owned the club? Wtf is the difference if he gets a replacement or me? I didnt steal it and break it on my own hoping to get an upgrade.

It's called taking a gamble, sorry you dont have the smarts or balls to do it

Having worked in the industry for a long time, there is very little chance you are getting a warranty. Ping has a strict 2 year replacement with receipt, and they grandfather it 3 years from date of manufacturer without receipt. This is known by the serial number. The G30 was discontinued in early 2015 with most production stopping in late 2014. If memory serves, I think discounts on the G30 was starting to roll out in November 2014 as I was at Ping for product knowledge in mid January of 2015 for the G release in the following 2-3 weeks. They will maybe offer a small discount 10-15% off of retail for a 410 but that is it. As an aside, I don't know who started this myth that Ping has an infinite warranty as one of your previous posts claim. I have talked to many Ping reps, both young and old (some with the company for close to two decades), and none of them have ever heard of this but they do acknowledge they get this question often.

Ok so if you bought a car that was under warranty and when you bought it from the owner you knew you needed it repaired you would just pay out of pocket cuz of your superior moral compass??

I think goof above proved you wrong, if it was absolutely no way of getting something done why would he send it into ping? For fun?

You need to register your clubs with Ping when you buy them, that’s Ping’s way of stopping scammers from doing exactly what you’re doing.

Totally lame to buy a 4 year old busted club for $35 and expect a brand new head worth a couple hundred bucks.

You can’t even get a good argument right. Hypothetically, I’m buying a car UNDER WARRANTY, which means that certain repairs are covered regardless of ownership as long as the proper transfer of warranty papers were filed. What isn’t covered, I’d pay for.

You deliberately bought a club that ISN’T under warranty and expecting them to cover it anyway.

Im not expecting a damn thing, it's a 30 dollar gamble if i get nothing then I either use it if its playable, sell as is or sell the shaft...easy peezy. Also no one, including u, has given me an official warranty coverage of ping so who are u to say it's not under warranty?

Golf goof just said he sent his in and waiting for the results so apparently they said they might be able to do something unless he just likes sending clubs away for fun

> Are my PING clubs still under warranty?

> At PING, we stand behind the workmanship and the materials involved in the manufacturing and production of our equipment and accessories. Our current policies protect your purchase from defect and **are evaluated on an as needed basis**. If you have any questions regarding our policies that protect your PING investment **please feel free to call (800) 474-6434 and we would be happy to discuss your situation** and provide the options that may be available.

Unlike most club OEM's - Ping has no fixed warranty policy, no time limit and not even a restriction to be the original owner. At least no criteria that they've chosen to publish and make public. In fact, it's so different from most, that I'm pretty sure they don't even technically call it a warranty (since they are not officially promising anything specific in writing beyond the above).

As long as the OP is completely open and honest with Ping CS about his situation - when, where, and how he came to own the club(s) - there should be zero regret or guilt for calling and asking. It's his right to call, and it's Ping's right to say yes or no to the specific situation.
